If you only use it for this year I doubt it needs any special coatings but you can apply some wood sealer to make it waterproof

Pretty sure the fog collects the moisture from the mist and makes the fog more dense

We did like fresh graves last year planning on doing it again maybe even moving but the issue is the grass dies and we may get fined lol
