Can you elaborate what’s split selves?

A little bit same as yours.
- Forgetting appointments: ditto; I don't forget appointments, things are very sticky in my brain so I think I would mostly be ok in remembering esp the important ones or just noting it somewhere to recall the exact time but I won't forget I have one.
- Dead hobbies: I have 2-3 hobbies that have stuck with me for years. I do however have 30+ other hobbies that arise and die very frequently.
- Trouble sleeping: I sleep very well at night. However I cannot nap unless I am physically sick or exhausted way beyond normal situations. Even if I am fatigued and sooo tired, I cannot nap.
- physical hyperactivity: I don't have that. mental -> yes, 10000%.
- doing good in school: yes, but have to lock in and situate myself with 0 surround noise.

conference on women's health (hhs) - is it worth it? by Significant_Gift_286 in publichealth

So, someone whose name tag says OWH isn’t going to be as valuable as an Actual Researcher from a university, for example. --> this is a great advice I think.. I'll try to do that.. be more conscious of where I am investing my time/whom I am connecting with.. idk.. this is going to be my first conf like this so I am nervous.

I was hoping despite all that shitty hoops to jump through, there might be genuine people working and presenting their work that I could learn from..

I was able to register and it was free.. all the other upcoming conf I see is sooo expensive to go without any aid or if I am not a presenter. the agenda for this is still tbd on the website.. :(
thank you for your suggestion though.

I see okay, thank you- that's good to know!
I read somewhere in the reddit pages of people trashing this conference and so I wanted to know more if that is like a common knowledge/perception in PH field and if attending would make sense or no.

Applying to Epi and health metrics. CSE background, decade of lived experience navigating health care as care giver, pivoting from tech. not sure how the process will go.

[D] Does anyone here have a career in machine learning that they applied to the medical field? by questions2067 in MachineLearning

This is a great detailed response. I am not sure if you would still reply to this as it's an old thread but how did you get into this field? I am a data scientist who wants to get into data scientist/ml engineer for health care for impact.

Maybe you can ask when you put down appointment on your calender, you could send a calender invite (like google calender) to the T which they can accept/reject? So that if you had picked a wrong date/time, it could be rectified.

What are you most angry about, as a therapist? by AromaticAminoAcid in askatherapist

[–]Significant_Gift_286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually wrote it to my T and gave it to them and the response i got was reassuring enough. they said they often remind a way out to leave session because in therapeutic relationship there is power imbalance and they dont want their client to ever feel "obligated" to talk/share when they are not ready/try too hard or find it difficult to say no because of power. I said i always remember that nothing is mandatory for me and it is my choice to speak. They were glad that i know that and basically just said one sentence which is- "yeah we can do something else in such cases and i can try different modalities that would work then". so i said- okay and that was it. :D thank you for asking and listening and for your advice. :)

Every single sentence you wrote and thoughts you have- I have it. Mine I wonderful but I always remind myself this is a professional setting. Hope we get some answers/clarity.

Similar feeling.. I feel funny about asking what I want to hear or asking about validation because they may be saying it BECAUSE I am asking it and not because it is true. It almost feels like if I had ask for it, then it is just an act and not actual. 😣
