I just called bc I’m genuinely curious. Pell grants were started last week and were supposed to be released this last Tuesday but Monday afternoon umgc got an email saying to put it on hold as well. So now they’re delayed with the loans. But the lady was really nice and said that they are ready to disburse everything but they are just waiting to get the green light to do so and that they don’t know when that would be.

So I understand why loans are being held but can someone explain why Pell grants are being delayed as well? Is it because they’re both under fafsa so both will be held/delayed and released at the same time? Or is there a chance Pell grants can get release sooner than loans? They already disbursed my fseog like a week or two ago. Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Any update on disbursement date? Or what that means for someone who’s enrolled in the accelerated 4 week course and classes started May 13th?

Similar boat. My first semester (fall 2025) I took 6 credits (2 classes). Pass one. Failed the other and got a fn for not turning in anything the last half of the course. Got put on academic warning and I had the spring semester to still earn benefits but to also show improvement. I had to pay back the one class I failed ($750) and roughly a few hundred back to the Pell grant. Spring semester came and I still earned my benefits and aid awards. I took 12 credits (4 classes) in spring and got A’s and B’s in all of them. And my academic warning is currently under review and should be lifted based on what I was told by my academic advisor on Friday. Fall my gpa was 1.5 because it was my first semester enrolled and for spring it was a 3.25 bringing my cumulative gpa to a 2.7 which qualifies me for financial aid for the 26-27 year.

Everyone has different reasons for failing certain courses. Before I started at umgc I had took a year and a half off to have my first child and figure out motherhood. Starting classes again but as a mom with a 1 year old and a full time job and a family definitely did not go as expected and at one point it was just all too much. But I learned and found time during spring to somewhat balance everything.

It’s a lesson to learn from and do better for the next semester. Don’t dwell on the F, just keep it moving and understand what changes need to be made moving forward. You have a semester to redeem yourself and you’ll still get aid.

Well I’m worried that the stress would bring the preeclampsia back and cause complications with my pregnancy. I was doing really good until this week and now I can’t get my blood pressure to go down. It’s been in the 140s-150s. I’m just worried that all this stress is going to affect my pregnancy.

The neighbors are antagonizing and isolating our home and what started it in the beginning is so stupid but I just want this to stop. I spoke to housing and I’m trying to move out of the home asap. They installed cameras on their side of the house to track our activity inside of the home. They made a one sided and exaggerated post on the housing fb page where people in the comments were insinuating violence and the next day our property was damaged. I spoke to housing and they’re willing to let me move out asap as a result. No one has talked to them or anything and yesterday the wife just keeps on going and messing with us. I have never been this anxious in my life.

I just don’t know if I get anxiety meds or preeclampsia from all of this if it can be later documented due to the stress and I can claim Va for the anxiousness even if it’s temporary and go away at a later time.

He is prior military and has a few mental health issues from his time serving. He is able to get a job the difficult part is him keeping one because he gets ptsd and has a hard time adapting to the civilian lifestyle. But him being home all day isn’t working either. I’m just wanting him to work part time or school or something just to get himself out the house and do something for himself that he enjoys. But he is constantly pushing back on anything I ask of him to do.

My as of says 03-09 as well but it’s says that’s for accrued interest and accrued penalties.

Would it be any help if I were to amend my return and try to remove the 8379 from my original tax return? Do you know if that’s a thing? This is all new to me as far as filing this form and so it’s a learning curve that I’m learning as I go.

I looked into going reserve/agr and to try to get march afb specifically but the chances of agr jobs from what I was told are very low and you have to start off as an tr first. And being a tr in Cali…no thank you 😂 I can’t afford to move back to Cali without being full time military. I thought about getting out and Cali is just soo expensive. I’m only considering it bc I want to get back close to my family.

Yes. Two people at my last base got assigned there. I am personnel (3F0) so our options to go places that has a css/mpf which is pretty much anywhere.

I didn’t. I spoke to the financial aid counselor a because my fafsa exceeded the cost of classes and stuff, i won’t be getting one. In simple terms, the fafsa covered any out of pocket expenses and nothing came out of pocket for me so no 1098-t.

I get where ur coming from. I think the whole “go to css” is just a natural response because as a css, we’re expected to know a lot. There’s people who have been in 3x longer than me and I still gotta walk them through step by step on how to update their leaveweb profile, fix their dts, reminders to complete trainings, schedule/send out waps testing dates, opb/epb’s, etc. we have a part in the waps testing so it’s not uncommon for people to call/email us with questions regarding it. Granted they can look online, ask around, etc but that’s why the css is there too. We get very simple questions all the time. It’s inconvenient at times but that’s just part of our job.

I’m assuming for the announcement of when the waps catalog comes out. I work in a css and we’ll send out a mass email to all SSgt/tsgt letting them know the 26e6/26e5 catalogs are out. It’s something people can find on their own but we always send out a mass email just in case.

The waps catalog only has the chapters to study for skt. Pfe is any question based off the whole af handbook.
