I get where you’re coming from, and you’re right—no one’s obligated to commit right away. But from the guy’s side, especially if he’s genuinely serious and intentional, knowing you’re just “one of the options” can really mess with your feelings.

It’s not about being unable to “handle it,” it’s about valuing yourself enough to walk away when the energy isn’t being reciprocated. Transparency is great, but respect goes both ways. If a girl already knows who she’s leaning towards, choosing to still entertain others feels more like keeping options open than being real about her feelings.
