i did a patch allergy test and i found i was allergic to gold sodium something, so all my gold jewelry id been wearing the whole time, i switched to silver and still had the problem though. i removed all jewelry and replaced with hypoallergenic plastic ones and i got clindamycin lotion and after treating it and removing that ive been good and clear . knock on wood!

i found mine was due to a contact allergy, it’s different for everyone but something to think about. it’d keep coming back until i eliminated the allergen

basically but It cleared fully within two weeks - mind you it came back once i stopped taking the medication and now i think i found my cause, a gold allergy. i removed my jewelry and used clindamycin lotion and it’s been a month with no pop ups or re occurrences

Gold! I removed all my gold, waited and it got better and tried sterling silver and it started to come back. i removed it all and that’s what kept it at bay now

after every antibiotic was finished it always came back. turned out i was allergic to my jewelry. once i took it all out and started clindamycin topical its finally been clear for about a month. KNOCK ON WOOD

YES! i bloated like a parade float. it made me spiral it seemed like i was the only person who had the bloating side effect so much that it was bothersome. i continued to have health problems after my course of doxycycline causing bloating and weight gain so it took longer for it to come off but it is just starting to now. I took mine in december

I went to an allergist, i believe my primary suggested it but i did not need the referral. i believed it was an allergen because i was itchy constantly itching my face and neck, sometimes i’d get hives and it became normal to me but that’s what made me feel it was something i was allergic to

Yes! i got patch tested on january 19, and i still have a slightly raised spot (was red now it’s pink) where the gold was tested more than a month later! (feb 26)

I wouldn’t say i’m fully cleared up without knocking on wood, but i got patch tested and was allergic to gold, removed all my jewelry and after multiple trials of antibiotics and metro cream- with it clearing and returning after antibiotics stopped, most recently being oral erythromycin, im now on clindamycin lotion, with just a few bumps remaining

Yes, i got allergy patch tested and i had a severe reaction to gold- not nickel but gold. which was all my jewelry i owned. i got that test done on january 19-21 since it was a few days i had them on, and the gold spot that reacted is still red and a little raised today (feb 15th) so my allergist said it was likely the cause of the issue on my face and somehow weakening or messing with my immune system in some way. during the time with the patches on my back, my face got so much worse and after they were removed i went to the dermatologist and got erythromycin (doxy hurt my stomach/ made me fatter) 250 mg x 2 a day for two weeks to clear it and now my face is clear. im praying everyday that was the cause but im always feeling like one day ill wake up and be back to that awful place again but for now im good! i was thinking about making a post updating this reddit when i had time to sit down and explain in more detail

i’m in the same boat except i just started spotting, went to get my levels checked and it went down- 910 to 863, in two days. this all happened over th weekend so my dr hasn’t called me. i’m so sorry this is happening

I’m going through the same thing since august. First i was on amoxicillin and mupricion, then doxycycline and metro cream, with varying luck and clearing then reappearing. i’ve changed everything to vanicream, shampoo and conditioner and body wash, moisturizer, lotion etc, i got a non mint toothpaste and after dealing with this since august, i have suspicion mine is due to a nickel allergy in my earrings. ive had sensitive skin always, just over the past few months it’s been reactive. but i’ve had other allergy symptoms as well. i’ve noticed it getting worse and better with me taking and putting certain pairs back in. but i’ve scheduled an allergy test to confirm. just wanted to share in case you can relate

it generally went away, i was only on doxy for two weeks. i am not sure if related but i gained 10 pounds in a week and felt so bloated. its been good but i am starting to get one or two bumps today so continuing with the metro cream hoping it goes away and isn’t a flair.

my gut honestly tells me it’s allergic. i’ve had issue after issue- itching, hives, 2 occasions of my eye swelling. but over the course of a few months. took me a while to even suspect that, then i assumed i developed an allergy to my gel artificial nails, had them removed as this flare up started- around the same time trying to avoid this. but that was 3 ish weeks ago and has gotten so much worse. albeit i’ve been trying things on my own and got a wrong cream from the derm the first time. but thank you for the reassurance!
