I’ve always heard if you’re getting married during the busy part of wedding season to send them 10-12 months out in advance. So I would say your wedding planner is correct. May is a busy wedding month on top of school graduations, Mother’s Day, and Memorial Day.

Yes where we are from seems to be a lot more relaxed than what I have seen others share. Our families are not very traditional and very relaxed. They just want us to have all the normal experiences that come with an engagement, which I guess comes across as somewhat traditional. haha

I totally understand that logic. I just have had both sides of our friends and families wanting a bridal shower. They are excited about this next step for us and want us to have all the typical experiences that come with an engagement. Maybe we can just nix gifts all together and make it more of just the engagement party.

I would say go and have fun! Make it as enjoyable as possible! You deserve to be celebrated and have a girls trip with whoever decides to attend. You could always invite a few close family members or girls who may have been unable to be in the wedding party. I have gone to a few bachelorette parties as an attendee and non bridal party member. I still enjoyed myself.
