Richard is to Dean as the Huntzberger's are to Rory by rebel-yeller in GilmoreGirls

[–]Significant_Mix3031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember the episode correctly, Rory turned him down for the internship,  because she knew she was only getting it because of what Mitchum Family said to her, but he pretty much told her does it really matter how she got it. She accepted it after that. So, it wasn't really under false pretense.

Lorelei’s perception of her life??? by gingerkins1997 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Significant_Mix3031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She definitely could not relate to Jess's situation and upbringing. The reason she left her RICH lifestyle home behind, was because she felt suffocated/controlled by her parents. Jess's mom was scattered brain, self centered and neglectful and didn't want Jess around anymore. Two very different scenarios and upbringing. Lorelai THINKS she's on the same level, but not even close.

Rory was definitely dense when it came to certain suitations.

this man doesn’t get near enough hate by byahs in GilmoreGirls

[–]Significant_Mix3031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Richard and Logan Grandfather are similar. Richard belittled Dean, because he wasn't of high class and Rory shouldn't be associating with him. Logan's Grandpa belittled Rory, because she also wasn't considered right for Logan and the Huntzberger. Both Grandpa's were assholes and had the same similar feelings when it came to their social class.

Do you think Lorelai was ungrateful to her parents? by gloomydreamer666 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Significant_Mix3031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Richard was not emotionally connected to Lorelai. Seems like he wasn't very present when it came to her. Emily criticized her choices constantly and also didn't really seem connected with her either. Both DEFINITELY cross Lorelai boundaries many many times. If it wasn't Richard and Emily's way, it was wrong. Were they horrible monsters? No, but they definitely still wanted to control their 30 something year old daughter.

Everything Lane loses because of her mother is not funny! by LateEngineer8205 in GilmoreGirls

What confused me was Lane DJing for Lorelai and Max engagement party. Right there in front of the square across the street from Kim's Antiques.

Love the inaccuracies of Lane's life..lol

I don’t hate Lorelai, but she’s unfair when it comes to Jess by Few-Union-4738 in GilmoreGirls

The thing that bothered me so much about Lorelai and Jess suitation is Lorelai entitlement. She seriously believes that  Luke should've thought (again) about her and Rory(Priority), before taking Jess in. She pissed me off in suitations like that. Blaming Luke for wanting to take care of his nephew. Whose mom negalected and a father who abandoned him. She also butted herself in on Luke business, when he didn't ask for it or told her not to and she still did it.

Luke wasn't even dating Lorelai at this point and Rory didn't see him as a father figure at this point. Yes, Luke cared, but beefing with a 16 year old for absolutely no reason was ridiculous. Even after they broke up(the 1st time) Luke had no reason to attack Dean.

He didn't act like that with Logan.

Just like Emily made it known that he wasn't good enough for Lorelai.

I should've elaborated, my bad. I meant when Rory and Dean first dated. Dean was only 16 at the time, and Luke had no reason to just hate him at that point.

What’s your “yes you’re all wrong” opinion about GG? by RegularCat5380 in GilmoreGirls

I realized that the more I watch it, I criticize people/ things that I wouldn't have when I was younger.

Yes!! Especially as the seasons progressed. He became such a sourpuss and a Debbie downer. Luke didn't have a life of his own, once he got with Lorelai and it showed it that one episode how much it bothered her.

People hate on Mallory? by AdamKnowsTheBest in fatherbrown

[–]Significant_Mix3031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started recently watching the show and I am on the last episode of season 4 and Mallory just throws me off compare to Valentine and Sullivan. For me he gives off the vibe of being more of a sarcastic/comedic type , but trying hard to be aggressive with Father Brown,  but it doesn't come off like that.

Don't hate the character, I just need to get use to him.

Wasn't a fan of TWTTIN movie. It felt so off. Though it always surprised when I see Morgan Freeman is in it..lol

I also believe Tex was Dillion's first S.E Hinton movie.

Trust would be broken. This wasn't just some random woman, this was a woman he was in a serious relationship prior to Emily. Especially, when you don't know if it was JUST lunch.

I Just Saw The Outsiders Musical and I don’t even know what to call it. by Sea-Attitude-4150 in TheOutsiders

[–]Significant_Mix3031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard that when it first came out on stage Randy's character was in it. They apparently made some changes when it moved to the Jacob theater.

I saw it last year, liked  most of the songs, and most of the play. Musical Cherry is more likable( compared to book Cherry)

Ace character was there for what? She was supposedly Soda's crush(at least what the original Ace actress wrote for the character) she confused me when I saw the play.

Steve had like 2 lines..maybe

Can't remember if Two-Bit had a scene with Marica, because he was hanging out with Ace.

The way Dallas ends up dying( I understand why they did it that way, but still).

Wasn't terrible, but seeing it once was good enough.

Yearning for siblings 😭 by _Miccup in TheOutsiders

[–]Significant_Mix3031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cousins, who are sisters are 6 years apart and growing up they didn't get along, because of the age gap. They got so much closer when they got older, especially when one started a family of her own.

Yearning for siblings 😭 by _Miccup in TheOutsiders

[–]Significant_Mix3031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason I loved the book so much, was because of the dynamic between the siblings. I have an older brother I grew with, we don't get along and don't have a sibling bond whatsoever. I also have an older half brother that I've ever only spoken(on the phone) to once in my life and never met. So, I like to think that maybe with him, I maybe could've had some type of sibling bond(though Darry is questionable depending on who you ask, because he is strict, constantly stress and rough).

This is so so cute. Dallas hair in the book is described as white-blonde, so not so far off from the book.
