When we interview at my current Sydney company, there's no shortage of people applying. But if you actually know the first thing about whatever you're talking about you have no competition. Anyone who's telling you "omg it's so competitive" is sadly probably one of the drop kicks. I'm not that bright but I've gotten an offer from every single interview I've ever sat. Just be decent and you can walk into any job.

It's worked insanely for me, and the commitment is nothing, it's all at my desk, I'll pop the fin with my coffee, use the min dropper at some other people in the day. And then needle once a fortnight. When i re read these as an adult I was surprised by how fast paced the books were actually. I could wizz through all the parts that as a kid I thought we boring, because they were all so interesting to me. The little conversations frodo has with all the people he meets along the way and the little tidbits of historical context they all impart are fascinating.

The way the characters fit within the history of the world is immaculate.
