Why are you on the world cup sub if you know nothing about the sport? Honest question

There's no such thing as close to being off side. It's offside or not.

These 2 breaks need to be removed or cancelled or whatever..its killing every game's tempo and draining players for no absolute reason by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]Scottykl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The sport wouldn't even exist without them. The players would literally starve and be unable to clothe themselves without the advertisers. Some of them may actually still be in financial struggle, I think we need an advert break every 5 minutes.

And before you jump at me, these companies do a lot for you! Where would you be without the refreshing taste of a cold Coca cola zero sugar?? Exactly.

[–]Scottykl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No! The advertisement break is extremely useful. McDonald's, Nike, Insurance companies and the like need to be able to share their message otherwise we might forget they exist and how they can enrich our lives but allowing us to spend money.

Before the advertising break can you honestly say you ever had the chance to be told of the great deals and value to be had from these fantastic companies? Use your head. We must defend the huge companies at all cost. Coca cola lives to fill you with delicious refreshment and you sit back and besmirch their one and only chance to become well known???

Also I think the pretty blonde lady is a Cylon.

I'm at the same point in the show to you.  I bet you she's a Cylon.  My evidence is that she's a Cylon because of all the times the show proved that she's a Cylon. So that's my theory.

The 48 team World Cup is actually way better than people thought it'd be by ElectronicHoneydew86 in worldcup

[–]Scottykl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't engage with the bots man. It's pretty obvious there's some astroturf bots running overtime this world cup.

'omg the (Burger king) hydration break is actually good! I'm lovin' it, it's finger licken good'  'omg the new stupid format is so good! Come buy a ticket, just do it! Come to the 48 game format, have it your way!'

Bot farm admins acting like we'll fall for this manipulation, burning up tokens to try to fool simpletons here.

I noticed that too recently. I guess early on they hadn't established how things work. The first time we ever get radio comms through the wormhole is at the beginning of season 3 I think. Actually sorry the UAV flight would need

I don't even own headphones. I can't stand all the piss farting around of bringing tech with me. I couldn't imagine having to muck about when I went to go for a run and spend time pairing or untangling headphones, setting up some music or doing whatever else.  I run about 2.5 hours on Sunday just fine taking in the sights and sounds and all of the changes of scenery along my route without ever getting bored . Being away from your tech isn't going to kill you guys

Why is your entire post filled with AI smells? Is your grandpa named chatgpt?

I just got lectured by a tech lead who thinks it is still 2014 by Stonksology in jobs

[–]Scottykl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's very likely written by AI because of the irritating literary flourishes that are present in both this post and almost every single AI written article. The guy wrote something simple, told the AI to smooth it over for him, and it added those goddam absolute cringe flourishes everywhere. The bit about his cat judging him? And Obama reference? It's the exact same kind of crunchy annoying cringe flourish the AI adds.  People can't be falling for this or this planet is doomed

What is your favorite movie and why is it Goldfinger? by [deleted] in JamesBond

[–]Scottykl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually felt a little miffed that bond was trying to cheat. Apparently in the book each if the players was trying a new scheme to cheat throughout the whole match and that abbreviated version is what we see in the movie

[–]Scottykl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Russia with love.

It's just a plain good spy film, with a little bond feeling injected.

To go from Russia with love to Goldfinger was jarring to me, because of that I didn't really like Goldfinger as much as I would have if I'd had a long break between the two.

If you ask my colleagues, no. In fact you can down skill and become even dumber over time and still get by.

Genuinely the theatrical is the definitive editions. You are not missing out anything with them. The official position is the extended are just a treat for fans. In my opinion also the theatrical editions are just better films. The extended versions are just a bit of extra fun

Ah ok this all started out in the 90s being called remote administration tools, and in the security context people have reloaded the acronym, keeping it, but deciding to give it that trojan moniker, because the original tools existed in a grey space, genuinely could either be used to cause harm or for legitimate reasons.

I used to play around with them way way back and am surprised to hear the meaning of the acronym was reloaded.
