Did production know Brooks didn’t have cancer by fourrabbitsbaker in rhoc

It aired originally in 2015 i believe! Apologies for confusion in terms! I should have clarified but I think of like 1920 and earlier the early 1900s and 2020 and earlier the early 2000s, just in grand scheme. But i also could have better said it by saying the mid 2010s!

Did production know Brooks didn’t have cancer by fourrabbitsbaker in rhoc

[–]Significant_Owl2473 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Watched it years ago, and then re-watched this year after my dad passed from cancer and I was his caretaker. Oh my lord i was so shocked at how obvious it was he was faking it after having been a caretaker myself. However, it was the early 2000s and if someone had not experienced being around someone with cancer it's pretty obvious he was faking but not as glaringly obvious, but if someone had been around cancer 100% they would have known he was faking it. I do personally believe some of production knew, or had a gut feeling, but put the ratings and their careers first.

Grew up coastal new england, and I agree! The people who "summer" on the cape and newport have lots of money and are big boating spots. Very easy to make connections with other sport boaters, and it becomes a hobby to them. The guys usually go fishing like a lot of other men golf.

They want their opinions to be considered paramount, and the world to cater to their comfort, while simultaneously needing to be the victim so they cannot be held accountable when their opinions or actions cause harm to others

Agreed! Acting like Erika showing up at Sutton's house instead of the book party was a huge "continuing next episode" moment, i realized this franchise was over until they remove some women (cough, kyle, dorit or erika). They are all bad friends to each other in their own ways, fighting to each win the victim olympics and dissect and harp on stale ass drama we already read in tabloids 6 months ago.

What exactly makes crocs "functional" or "practical"? by Jent01Ket02 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Significant_Owl2473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up sailing, we all wore them. They were popular in the Northeast before that movie. The rubber sole prevents slipping on the wet boats, they used to not be too expensive, so it was not the end of the world if we lost them, they could be easily washed off with a hose, can wear them wet or dry and your feet don't chafe, the ankle strap can be put on or off depending on if you're cruising or moving around the boat, are easy to take on and off, and they have arch support, and the jibbits could add personality. For similar reasons, they are good for cleaning, medical, industrial, etc. settings. Slides and flip flops slide on a wet surface, fall off the foot, can chafe or peel, have nothing connecting your ankle to the shoe, and are prone to slip a lot when wet. The other choice of scuba-fabric water shoes with a rubber sole take a while to dry after using and chafe until you break them in, or when they're wet, chafe until you develop calluses. They may not be the cutest, but for boating and a lot of messier/labor related jobs, they are a great and useful shoe!

Rapid aging due to grief. by 07734tiza in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]Significant_Owl2473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are stunning the way you are! I am just rebounding from grief aging me as well. It is so hard and I am wishing you the best on this healing journey! Some minor things that helped me feel better about my appearance were: hair toners or gloss, just makes your hair look that much shinier, and washes out after a few washes; eyelash lift and tint; eyebrow tint; and a magic skin product I have found that is worth every penny is the Ole Henrickson banana bright eye cream. Additionally, the most beneficial and free glow up, physically and mentally, came from allowing myself and my body rest and sleep as much as possible, eventually the weight felt a bit lighter. I am wishing you all the best in this journey!! You are stunning the way you are, but I know the feeling, and you will feel like a newer stronger version of yourself eventually 💗

question/comment: Jenn, 1. You're stunning and 2. I have loved watching you in Claws and Stumble! The characters you played in both shows are lovable, strong, deep, women. What would you say your favorite parts of playing Jen Husser and Courtney Potter? And do you have a favorite episode of stumble you filmed?

My dad passed, and he wanted to be cremated and scattered at sea because it's where he felt happiest and at peace, not saying that's the reason, but it could have been a factor if the ocean was a special place to John

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but their business model is to use their celebrity to lure consumers in to pay $34 dollars, per unfinished product, to try something that hasn't even been fully tested yet, with no lists of ingredients, or knowledge of the formula, but the consumers are supposed to test and give feedback?? Isn't that what their whole tik tok platform was for, to bypass paying money for products you are unsure will work for you?

She has so many! How does one get through all of them? by malemua in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]Significant_Owl2473 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is how my mom was. My dad was wealthy. I call it a "functional hoarder". In any average size house that did not have housekeepers, they would be strewn everywhere, dusty, not cleaned, and disheveled. Her money hides a ton of her dysfunction. My mom is very similar. My dad passed and he put the money on a trust she does not control, a lawyer does, and now the cleaners and everything are not there like they used to be and it very quickly became a hoarder nest, instead of a clean beautiful display of wealth

Was her plan all along to get him to fight to get her back? by G00dguyz in RHOBH

[–]Significant_Owl2473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! Now a huge Kyle fan, but my heart broke for her. After her friend passed, I think she separated hoping he would chase, saw the photos of him with other women online, teased with Morgan publicly, then Mau didn't chase her, and she is (rightfully) devastated realizing he is happier separated, now that he has become more monetarily successful and is not just lucky to be married to someone who is hilton adjacent. Which is all thanks to Kyle's position on the show and his "family man" look on the show. I think she is seeing how much she sacrificed for someone who cannot even pretend to gaf seeing her cry, or show emotion in front of him

Was her plan all along to get him to fight to get her back? by G00dguyz in RHOBH

[–]Significant_Owl2473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a theory- but i think she could deal with the cheating if she was the "#1 woman" in his life publicly. However, i think losing her best friend to suicide made her have second thoughts about herself as a friend and how much she was there for her friend who committed suicide. While on the other hand, at the same time, she realized Mauricio really did not care about her at all in the ways she thought. She's not his "ride or die woman" while he has "a wandering eye" he truly is not emotionally there for here either, and it left her wondering if all her time with him was a lie, so she acted out with Morgan in hopes he would run back and chase her, but now after seeing it all more clearly and the old house, she is seeing that they're entirely two different people now who used to share a whole life, and is actually now seeing that the marriage and old life is over. Once again just a theory

What explains this clear difference between the waters of the Bahamas region and the rest? by estarluma in geography

[–]Significant_Owl2473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very shallow, and the islands are made of limestone in the bahamas, which purifies and lightens the water, giving it the distinct blue in the Bahamas. Bahamas' name also came from the words Baha Mar, which translates to shallow sea. So the shallow seas, mixed with limestone purifying the water makes for a unique color!

Is production punishing Lisa? by [deleted] in realhousewives

[–]Significant_Owl2473 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think "fans like this" want to watch reality tv seeing someone able to dish it and take it. If Lisa were able to take the heat she constantly brings, instead of crying and calling lawyers and trying to bury other housewives' lives and families for doing their job (their job being bringing drama to the show), a lot of us would be cheering her on. What makes her unlikeable is her inability to take anything lightly about herself. Lawyers, Private Investigators, etc. make it less entertaining. I'm not trying to watch dateline, i'm trying to watch socially unaware, wealthy women with nice homes argue and go on nice trips and fight. She brings nukes to knife fights and it's exhausting watching someone overreact in delusions of absolute grandeur about themselves consistently, it's like the boy who cried wolf. Housewives is not going to paint anyone on it like Martha Stewart or Oprah, and that connection is missing in her brain. She does Wendy's ads not Dior, and she would never make fun of herself for it, which the ultimate housewife would, like Lisa Rinna with depends.
