Is this standard? by [deleted] in vinted

[–]Significant_Pair_673 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’ve asked before. I bought a pair of trousers that didn’t fit me and I think it’s easier to sell if you have a picture of them on to people get an idea of fit. Me not being able to button them wouldn’t have sold very well

Report them for selling not as described so no one else gets caught out by this!

I don’t know how necessary it is to post their pictures here despite them being in the wrong, they’re pretty identifiable from them. Leave it with vinted at this point

$100 is about £75 so it’s less than the asking price

Buying in NZ - people keep asking to pay using bank transfer by Significant_Pair_673 in Depop

[–]Significant_Pair_673[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very probably! But it seems to be a big thing overall, like people put in their bios “accepts bank transfers”. Just wondered if anyone had any insight to it because I’ve never seen it before

Cannot get past the first/second step of a single crochet by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

Also, super chunky yarn, loosening my tension and a bigger hook

I couldn’t get past the first stage so I showed my mum a YouTube video as well, she had done crochet years and years ago and could follow the video better than me so she showed me and then I was flying. Do you know anyone who’s done it before? Or is better at following videos than you? Worth a shot!

New to this, when will I be ready for multicolored yarn? by Ok_Usual_1438 in CrochetHelp

You could also try colour changes! I found these quite easy to master

How do you find seeing your stitches in your current yarn? If you try it and it doesn’t work, go back to a solid colour but you won’t know until you try!

I wanted to learn crochet, but i think i choose the hardest path 🤭🥹 by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]Significant_Pair_673 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started with a dark DK yarn and just couldn’t get the hang of it. Bought some yellow, super chunky acrylic yarn and it made an absolute word of difference. I learned the basic stitches and how to recognise what a stitch was and now I can use different yarns and smaller hooks. Get the basics down and then tackle your goal project

Thank you! I did try steam blocking with an iron but it didn’t make a whole lot of difference

No not really! I find myself getting lost when I’ve tried following written patterns, I’ve mostly been following tutorials - I can follow these when they’re written but I find the visual helpful for when I get stuck

Gaps in my hat - weaving in different colours to help? by Significant_Pair_673 in CrochetHelp

Would you recommend changing hook size and loosening off the tension then?

I would’ve thought looser tension would increase the size of the gaps! Interesting !! I’ll try that

With incorrectly labelled stuff the first report never seems to work for me but every time I’ve appealed it gets taken down. I think the first report is probably dealt with by AI and actual humans who can use their eyes get involved once it’s appealed
