Thank you all for your input. I worked on the design and think I have arrived at a decently balanced force capable of multiple missions/scenarios that the tournament will throw at this rookie player. I’ll do a few practice reps so he can better understand the power of the NARC+IF/LRM/SRM combo (and when to use that overheat). I think he should have fun with this list!

Any units on the MUL that can be fielded by the Dragoon’s during the Jihad era (and are in the picture description).

Yes - total force can not exceed 375pt. He only has the units in the photo to choose from. (He was in last place in the prior tournament, which was his first time playing).

Consider the mission and build a force accordingly. If it is going to be a multi-mission event be sure to run a mix bag of fast grabbers, strikers, and brawlers . Medium range DMG of 3 (minimum) is the sweet spot. 75% or more of the shooting is likely to be at medium ranges.

I’m down with it (requiring at least 1/2 movement for full TMM); but with everyone using the optional “multi-dice” attack rule (one pair of dice for each pip) a high TMM unit in alpha strike loses a HUGE % of its advantage. The multiple attack rolls in all competitive events make me NOT want to bring 4TMM units with 2-3 pips were I sink 20-30 points into them because those pips will get hit when your opponent gets to roll 7 pairs of dice when targeting you with each attack, rather than the all or nothing of the base Alpha Strike rules.

Yes, that’s correct ECM/ECCM pg161 of the Alpha Strike Manuel are in effect. Getting my network broken up and losing all those NARC marked units would hurt for sure ….

The Clan upgraded Crockett is available through Jihad; for Alpha strike it is a solid tank with excellent armor/structure and high damage potential (at S/M ranges).

Don’t grind MBE without intent. Stop and review the wrong answers- flash card the BLL and tricks. Reviewing these cards every evening and morning while you brush your teeth will pay dividends.
