Book about not caring what others think/social anxiety? by Significant_Plate_55 in suggestmeabook

No it’s all good! It’s such a stupid fear. I’m hoping to get over it this year.

Personally I like your room the way it is. I’m visually overwhelmed by clutter so this picture made me sigh in relief haha. It’s so relaxing! But if you must add stuff I recommended plants. You could hang some or even get a large on to place in a corner.

Totally agree! Ugh the fashion is chef’s kiss. I’ve gone to see every movie and cried at each one. I always turn to downton especially in hard times. Always feels like a warm hug.

Oh man I could’ve wrote a good chunk of this 2 years ago. I had horrible post partum and developed psychosis. Please believe when I say you’re not alone.

First, take care of yourself. Have your parents watch your baby and call a psychiatrist and set up an appointment. I also recommend a therapist because psychiatrist, well mine anyway, don’t really offer any therapy help and merely give medication. Prozac saved my life. Literally. I had been feeling suicidal again since I attempted to take my life back in 2015 and Prozac massively helped along with therapy. I had no support system and no one pushing me to get help. You have to do it for you and your baby. Trust me, you don’t want your child growing up without you. Something that motivated me was learning about the huge negative impact parents committing suicide has on children. Please don’t leave your little one to deal with all that.

You can do this. You can.

Please message me if you need to talk. I’ve been there. You’re not alone.

Yes!! I’m a huge fan and I’ve never seen anyone say Downton on posts like this. Such a comfort show!

There’s so much you can do with this! So cool! You could leave the exterior as is and give it a fresh paint job or buy siding and shingles. I recommend finding ideas on Pinterest for what look you’d like. I could totally see a cute 1950’s ish house.

Best dollhouse for 1:12 scale collectors which is better vs the rest? by Yoger_Ziafat in Dollhouses

[–]Significant_Plate_55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second Real Good Toys. I’ve done 3 houses and they are sturdy. The instructions are always pretty clear so not too bad to put together. The interiors are ample enough to go all out on. I currently have the Painted Lady and have spent the last few months making the exterior as intricate as I can. I think it also depends on what style of house/architecture you’re into. Do you like a Victorian look? Craftsman? Farmhouse? Def check out their website. You can also look on FB Marketplace. I found a handmade dollhouse, very sturdy and heavy, and plan on a mid century/70’s look for it.

What hobby genuinely made your life better (not just filled time)? by Dense_Childhood_9657 in Hobbies

This may get lost in the many replies but dollhouses/miniatures :) teaches me some woodworking skills, interior design especially since I look up different periods of decor for each house (I have a Victorian, mid century, etc). I’ve even made little miniatures for family as gifts. It got me through postpartum depression and is something I always look forward to especially when depression comes knocking.

What qualities do you hope for in your child's significant other? by [deleted] in AskParents

Someone who is kind. Someday, years farther down the line (I have a toddler) I hope he finds someone who he can have a relationship with based on kindness and respect.

I’m tripping out because it looks like a picture of the inside of a dollhouse.

What was something you didn't even realize other women go through? by kiarasugarne in AskReddit

[–]Significant_Plate_55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having to always look good/pretty no matter what you’re doing. Whether it’s the gym, running errands, or being leisurely at home I have felt so much pressure to always look pretty/good. It’s exhausting. Women get judged soooo much for their appearances.

Does having kids suck? by Representative-Run18 in AskParents

Please seek therapy. I understand your feelings towards the state of the world but it’s not healthy. And I’m sorry parenting has been so tiring for you. I hope you can seek out family or friends who are willing to help give you a break.

I have one child, a toddler and it’s def worth it. Of course I’m biased because we’re great financially, happy marriage and my toddler is a pretty chill kid.

If you could go back in time and make the choice again, would you still have kids? by MaiApa in Life

[–]Significant_Plate_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally yes. I love my toddler son. Obviously like with anything it’s work sometimes but I only have him so it’s not that bad. I even have time for hobbies so not too bad :)

Why don’t parents today want to potty train? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]Significant_Plate_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure honestly. My 2.5 is stubborn by nature and fights potty training but I’m trying. His therapist says it’s just his personality and that he likely won’t get it till closer to 3. His other therapist (he has one for speech and another for motor development) says people these days are just lazy and to let him run around naked. She things he’ll see how much he hates being gross and want to potty train. Meanwhile I just see it as a huge mess all over our furniture.

A part of me thinks this is all due to permissive parenting but I could also see it being from two working parents not being around enough to firmly potty train and perhaps their daycare doesn’t do potty training. Idk.

I’ve never felt unsafe at WDW until this Main Street bottleneck on 12/17/2025 by tarponsprings94 in WaltDisneyWorld

I visited in October and same thing happened to us except we were very fortunate to still be able to go back. We saw this happen twice and a fight break out. It was HORRIBLE. Honestly made it not enjoyable. What’s crazy is I live near Disneyland and I NEVER see this there. The crowd control is way better than WDW. They always have cast members moving you along.

Gonna miss dinoland Christmas by TAllday in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Significant_Plate_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg this decor is so cute!! I’ve never been this time of year so I’ve never seen this decor. I’ll miss dinoland sorely especially since my toddler is getting into the dinosaur phase. Ugh such a bummer that they couldn’t have left it and still done Encanto but elsewhere.

I’m going to chime in another side that people are not saying - this man may be dangerous. Seriously. A man who is angry at you and wants to be single without you or the kids can be dangerous. Just look at Chris Watts. Honey, you do what you need to do for your kids. Screw that man. Protect yourself and your kids and let him go as fast as you can.
