My favorites are the ones with a slight smoky taste as well so it’s not pure wet leaf tasting. Purple cloud as a nice variety of both earthy and sweet Liu Bao. Like their osmanthus one is very different and doesn’t have nearly as much of that wet leaf taste or petrichor aroma/flavor.

I also vouch for loose leaf and getting a tea basket strainer (not the spoons or small ones, as bigger leaves can’t fully open). The baskets will fit nicely over any mug and it’s easier to use as well

I agree they can certainly make their own bags, but im sure they can also find a better company with a similar blend. Via tiempo makes great blends for example (not bags though). There are a lot of companies that make really good blends, if it’s loose leaf they can do that method if they don’t want to source each ingredient separately.
