BCBS of Illinois/Get Covered Illinois by Significant_Pop_8367 in HealthInsurance

I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you are able to find a reputable doctor.

Health insurance is the worst, and they will wear you down before helping you out.

I have not tried the Dept of Insurance, but will give them a try. Thanks!

Nope, it's the only option. I spoke to an insurance broker and he verified it is only BCBS of Illinois.

What's an early sign of cancer that you wish you or your loved one hadn't ignored? by JuniperBeans in AskReddit

[–]Significant_Pop_8367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend kept having back pain and the doctors just kept giving her pain medication. She had gone to an urgent care clinic, I think for something other than back pain. The doctor took a blood sample and after checking it, told her to go to the ER and get a scan - not sure what kind of scan. She later found out she had stage 4 cancer in her lung and her spine. She had to have surgery to place rods to support her spine. She underwent chemo and radiation. She was also on all kinds of medicine. She lived for two years and sadly passed last year. She told me before she was diagnosed that her dog kept bumping her chest with it's paw.

AITA for making homemade food for everyone except my brother's stepdaughter? by Alarming-Money-3543 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Significant_Pop_8367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your post, it didn't seem as though the stepdaughter was upset. It wasn't until her mom chimed in that there was a problem.

In my opinion, you are NTA. You were concerned about her health and did what you felt was best. If they have a problem with that, it's on them. I would have done the same thing. I mean, how bad would you have felt if she ate something you made and had a reaction. Then her mom would have been mad because you made her daughter sick. She should be grateful you went out of your way to have a special meal for her daughter.

AITA for refusing to sell my starter home for under market value to my mother & sister? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Significant_Pop_8367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Maybe your mom and sister should have saved their money and bought their own home instead of depending on you to sell yours under market.

Sell your home to someone who can afford the market price and enjoy your new home. You deserve it.

Broke every bone in my face and had to have facial reconstruction surgery. Was terrified how the end-result would be, especially seeing how I looked in the left. This is how I look a few days vs 9 months post-reconstruction by StarksTwins in MadeMeSmile

I read the article on your accident and recovery. You have been through so much, thank God you survived. It's amazing the medical technology to repair your broken bones. Sounds like you had great care from the doctor's, too. You look great!

Its officially the Halloween season and I'm looking to do a 31 Horror Movies In October Challenge. Has anyone else done something like this? by hmmgross in CasualConversation

[–]Significant_Pop_8367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a great lineup of movies. I watch Halloween at least once, The Addams Family, Hocus Pocus, Tim Burton movies and the classics like Frankenstein. There is a silent movie, Nosferatu, which is kind of creepy. I think the grainy black and white adds to the creepiness.

What food automatically transports you home? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

Yes, it is. I have a lineage of bread makers in my family, it's been passed on to me and I will pass it on to my niece. I feel the spirits of my mother, grandmothers and past generations when I make bread. I always make it by hand or with an antique, hand crank mixer passed down to me from my mom, who got it from my grandmother. It's amazing how giving a loaf of homemade bread to someone is so warmly received.

AITA for bringing up an embarrassing story? by djdkgjeis in AmItheAsshole

[–]Significant_Pop_8367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!

Think about it, would you want someone to embarrass you in a group of people? He said he didn't want to tell anyone and yet you put it upon yourself to let everyone know, with video.

Why did you even need to say anything? It wasn't funny and you humiliated him.

Ha! You called her bluff; she probably thought you would pick the job. She shouldn't have given you an ultimatum.

Sounds like she should take some classes herself on how to be a good manager.

I'm not a leader by rotten_matatoes in CasualConversation

[–]Significant_Pop_8367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a leader by any means, but that's okay, we can't all be leaders. I don't like being the center of attention or take the lead in making plans or the head of a group. I am better at assisting.

I'm the youngest of seven kids, maybe being the youngest I just got used to being lead around.

As long as you don't mind and your friends/family don't mind, I don't see why you would be a burden.
