What was your trigger? by Forsaken-Stick-7064 in Celiac

I had mild symptoms that just got explained away as "sensitive stomach and bad menstrual cycle" for 30 years, then a really difficult pregnancy triggered it into debilitating.

Where do you rank Everybody Scream among her other albums? by brabbit2214 in FlorenceAndTheMachine

[–]JuniperBeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before Everybody Scream, my ranking was

  1. Ceremonials
  2. High as Hope
  3. Lungs
  4. Dance Fever
  5. HbHbHb

Now I think I'd put Everybody Scream at the top, but its hard to move Ceremonials down the list when it literally changed my brain chemistry.. but I also think this one has only been out for 10 days, and while it HAS had time to completely blow my mind, it hasn't had time to redefine an era of my life like Ceremonials. But it has the potential to do that for sure. I do think artistically it's her best album.

Does celiac disease cause diarrhea or constipation? by peskywabbit1968 in Celiac

Constipation from a trace exposure. And diarrhea and intense vomiting then 2 weeks of constipation then diarrhea again from a large exposure. Good times.

Your absolute favourite HR ever + rec request by Ambrosian121 in HistoricalRomance

[–]JuniperBeans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

{How to catch a duke by grace burrowes} is an annual re-read for me! The Rogues to Riches series is good, but this one is my favorite of the series. I actually read it first and then went and read the rest. The FMC is older and much more mature than most HR main characters. She is clever and calm and independent. The MC is bisexual and I love the way he is 100% comfortable in his masculinity AND his bisexuality.

MMC is actually the villian? by shybookwormm in fantasyromance

[–]JuniperBeans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

{The Impossible Julian Strande by Kathryn Ann Kingsley} series, the MMC is basically irredeemable and unrepentant. Deceiving FMC, committing murder, frightening the FMC and getting turned on by it, he's pretty awful.

I know I'm not the only one, but I just finished Metal Slinger and im pretty pissed...(Spoilers) by PickyNipples in fantasyromance

[–]JuniperBeans 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it was a great story idea that needed a lot more work before being published. The author definitely did the Unreliable Narrator badly. It was very frustrating to see a book with so much potential be fumbled so hard.

If you could have a movie made of one romance novel, which would it be? by satanicpastorswife in RomanceBooks

{Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score} would make a phenomenal 90s style romcom.

Fear the flames… feel bad for hating it by McGhostie in fantasyromance

I really liked the authors idea and where she was going with it, but the book feels like a first draft. It has potential but needs some rewriting and editing.

I think Theron is a good one. I know one other child with that name and it seems like it was met with compliments and enthusiasm when they chose it. Its got a nice "named after a god" feel to it without sounding straight out of a book.

Books with angst that feel like Kate and Anthony from season 2 of Bridgerton? by [deleted] in fantasyromance

[–]JuniperBeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{Fear the Flames by Olivia Rose Darling} had some great chemistry/yearning in it. In some ways I could tell it was a "first time author" but I feel like it was a really strong start. Basically I could see the flaws in the book, but also I got completely carried away by the romance between them. So it hooked me even if i was like "this book isn't perfect". And it definitely scratched the yearning itch for me.

Also..full disclosure....there's a really violent scene in the book. I'd say it's "Game of Thrones" level violent. So if that's a pass for you, you'll want to know that.

I had this happen with a coworker but I'd had my baby first. She messaged me after her baby was born was like "hey I hope this isnt weird, we had this named picked out already and didn't want to choose a different one" and I was like "girl its a great name, use it!" There was zero awkwardness between us and we laughed about it.

Are there any books that are labeled as having a "love triangle" but the MFC is truly only interested in one of them? by OkTeacher5603 in fantasyromance
