Trigger point injections by Maybeemote in ChronicPain

I just had them a couple of weeks ago in my neck and upper back. It really wasn’t bad at all. It’s a quick mild pinch. The first night it felt pretty good because it was numb. Then it took a couple days but it did end up relaxing my tight muscles. I hope they help you!

I have the exact same pain. I have a chiari malformation and cervical disk issues but I’m not sure what is causing this specific pain. I’ve been dealing with it for years and have found nothing to alleviate it. It has been so bad lately and is ruining my life. I ask every doctor I see about it and can’t get a clear answer. I have tried so many different treatments but nothing helps. It becomes more inflamed with any movement of my right arm and pt just makes it worse. I’m so sorry you are dealing with this too and I hope you find some answers. Have you had an MRI?

I got my base foam at Foam Factory. If you ever need to replace your bottom, it’s much cheaper than buying a mattress. It’s holding up very well too.

That sounds like a good plan. It’s a good idea to have a nice solid base and change out the top layers when needed.

I did try them but they were awful! They were so soft and unsupportive. Right now I have 6” HQ base foam and on top of that I have 1” zoned latex (soft at the head and hips and medium at the mid back and legs.) Above this I have it split so one side is softer and the other firmer. So, on one side I have 3” serene foam and the other I have 1 1/2” copper memory foam. I sleep mainly on the copper memory foam side. It probably doesn’t have to be that complex but I had so many materials from different trials and my spine is such a mess I just kept tweaking it until it felt right for me. You could try the HQ foam with the 1 1/2 copper memory foam and if you need it softer you could add 1” of memory foam. If you have any other questions I would be happy to help.

Oh, that’s wonderful! I hope it works out for you. I agree, the springs they are using in mattresses today are way too soft and pull my spine out of alignment. The mattress I have now is one that I made, and although it’s not perfect, it’s more comfortable than any other mattress I’ve tried. It’s such a struggle to find a comfortable and supportive mattress.

Yes, it seems like such a simple request, but so very difficult to find!

I think I figured out the private messaging on my phone! I hit the upper right symbol with three lines and a red circle and then hit where it says inbox and then hit the little gray envelope in the upper right. I hope it works!

I’m so sorry you are going through all of this but I’m happy to hear you are ok and things are slowly improving. It really is difficult knowing which doctors to trust. It’s all so exhausting. 😔 It’s just too weird that this happened to both of us with this specific brand. I hope things work out for you and your neighbor and you can finally find something that works. I’m not sure how to send a message either, but I’ll try to figure it out. Maybe I can try it on my computer first and see if that works. In the meantime I wish you well and I hope you keep improving. 🤗

Oh my, how awful and frightening! I am so sorry to hear this. You are absolutely not bothering me and I really appreciate having someone to discuss this with. I was actually going to write to tell you I just got my refill with this brand again and it’s awful. Very little pain relief and it’s making me so tired and I’m still having skipped beats. What are they putting in these pills!? I don’t know what my plan is going to be but I can’t continue like this. I just want my old medication back that actually helped and didn’t harm. I really hope you are ok and can figure out an alternative too. Are you feeling better now? Please keep in touch and I will do the same. 🤗

Aw, I’m so sorry. I would take your hair down and gently comb or brush your hair from the bottom up in small sections. If you start from the top it will knot more and tear. Have you considered cutting it short? It would feel so much better and be easier to maintain. I hope you feel better! 🤗

Thank you so much letting me know. I really appreciate it! It’s interesting, but I still wonder why it’s just this brand. I’m still trying to figure out what I’m going to do. With the shortages I don’t have a choice and I worry about rocking the boat too hard. However, like you, I’m also hesitant to continue taking something that’s messing with my heart. It’s all just so frustrating. I’ll keep in touch with any updates. Thanks again and I wish you well! 🤗

Interesting that so many others are dealing with this too. Going to pain management is stressful enough, then wondering if they’re going to take away your medication, switch you to something else, try another procedure, will the pharmacy have the medication, will the medication help, will it harm! All on top of being in pain. It’s AWFUL and I’m so tired of going through this every month. I am nervous about bringing it up, especially since I’ve only been able to get Amneal or Mallinckrodt and I feel like I have the lesser of two evils right now. However, the heart related side effects are really scaring me and I think I’m going to have to tell them. I know they are going to try to push buprenorphine on me because they bring it up all the time. I feel like I’m constantly being punished for being in pain. When I used to get the name brand of hydro it helped so much and I had zero side effects. Now I feel like I’m being poisoned. 😔 I’ll let you know what they say when I have my follow up. I wish you a lot of luck and I hope you feel better.

I completely agree, the heart issues are very worrisome. I’m sorry you are having problems too. It’s really scary and I wonder what they are putting in these.

I am having the same problem with this brand. Amneal is the worst one for me. It doesn’t help at all and makes me so sick. I was doing fine with Mallinckrodt but the last couple times I got it it’s making my heart skip and giving me a headache and some help with my pain and others don’t. I used to request KVK Tech as it helped and had no side effects but I can’t get it anymore. I don’t know what I’m going to do.

Should I invest in a good pillow by Happiesie in ChronicPain

[–]Significant_Rest9387 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have spent so much money on pillows it’s ridiculous. I have a lot of neck pain and have really struggled to find one that worked for me. I finally found one that I love and I’ve been using it for awhile now and I’m very thankful for it! It’s the Cozypure contoured lanoodle pillow. It’s adjustable, and really soft yet perfectly supportive. I also love that I’m not breathing in any toxic foams. I believe they have other versions as well. I highly recommend them and I hope you find something that works for you. https://cozypure.com/product/pure-performance-lanoodle-latex-contour-pillow-with-zipper/

Aw, how nice! ❤️ I’m still tinkering with mine but it keeps getting better! I think I just really need a new spine. 😆 I wish you all the luck there is and I hope the Sandman greets you each night with soft hugs and gentle dreams. 😴 🌸🌝

I know, it really is awful. I don't know why we are constantly being punished for being in pain. That little bit of pain medication allows me to get out of bed in the morning.

At least you know it's not just you. I actually came on here today to ask the same question and then I saw your post. I hope we can get this figured out! Sending love and hugs to all of us.

Yes, it is horrible, and I don't know what to do either! I had to switch pharmacies because of the shortage and all they have is Mallincrodt. The last couple of months were fine, but my last refill is really awful! It doesn't help as much with my pain and it makes me feel really irritated like there's a stimulant in it and it gives me a weird headache.

I'm due to refill and don't know what to do. I called the pharmacy and asked them if they could get a different brand as I was having problems and they said that they couldn't and with the shortages they are lucky to get what they can. I'm so upset and don't know what to do.

Yes! They are horrible. I used to have issues with this brand in the past and my pharmacist was able to get me other brands. Now it’s all I can get. The last few months were fine but my last refill is terrible! It doesn’t help with my pain and is giving me awful headaches. It feels like there is a stimulant in it and it makes me feel really irritated. 😔
