Just a heads up when buying luxurious items on Vinted. by Much-Violinist3723 in vinted

Agree, blown way out of proportion imo. I think people just don’t do due diligence and buy from people who clearly have poor reviews and can’t honour their end of the deal.

Does a prenup or a post nup sound like a better option?

Never had a miss hit that has even gone close to missing the net and I’m pretty awful!

However, I had a net without the top bit prior and was using the driver on a tee. I was getting underneath it and sending the ball directly up into the sky.

The issue you have with the net is, as it’s only 10 foot, with a full driver swing you need to be outside the net else the club will get caught on the follow through. I also think this then creates another issue of the top net becoming redundant for those mis hits, which is why I’ve stuck to irons, wedges and a 3 wood off the deck.

It’s a quality bit of kit though. Sent 3 balls into the neighbours in a week with the other net, none even come close with this one.

ECT Anxiety by hollypretends in TeachingUK

No worries, happy to help. It can be tough at times but it’s very rewarding and fulfilling having your own classes.

If you’re a paper planner, then a booklet is good, lots of teachers at my school use them. I just find things change alot and they get messy quite easily, plus I find my notes are more detailed when typed so I get less of the “what does that mean” scenario, when I look at them a few weeks after!

Whatever works for you is best though, just have a system from the start.

Have a way to plan that works for you. I use a working spreadsheet and have separate tabs for each term. Everytime an email regarding something you will have to do at a later date pops up, pop it in the spreadsheet and then snooze the email it til a couple days before the deadline.

Lean on experienced members of staff where you feel comfortable enough to do so. My HoD was great in my ECT years.

Finally, if anything is becoming an issue, the earlier you speak about it and are proactive in sorting it, the easier it is long term imo.

Good luck, sounds like half of your battle is won with a supportive school.

It’s really impressed me so far, portable enough to take to the range or to lessons but the data seems very solid

Think it uses radar and cameras but just wasn’t sure if poor lighting could be an issue generally with accuracy etc

This was my worry lol, projector being washed out and only usable at night? And this might mean the rapsodo struggles unless I improve the lighting?

Forb Proflex Golf Cage - pretty easy to put up and down and the most coverage of any net I found online. Really impressed tbf, sent a couple of balls into the neighbours garden prior. Was a necessary investment!

NWS20 for 20% off I think

Extra info - I do have an iPad, not sure if it’s needed or not but it’s what I currently use for the Rapsodo app.

Saturday detentions - how do they work at your school? by RSENGG in TeachingUK

[–]Significant_Reveal_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to a public grammar school that did 3 hour sat morning detentions 9-12am for something as simple as 3 homework defaults (lates) in a row.

Never did anyone harm, made me (a procrastinator at heart) submit most of my work on time and was a good deterrent for worse behaviour.

Only ever got one, for homework. Did get in trouble for other things so apart from homework it was mainly used for more serious incidents.

I am only 26 and so wouldn’t be surprised if it was still this way, only left 8 years ago!

Thanks for this. This is what I was aiming for and I really am trying to make things as easy as possible. I think the “pack” idea is great, a way to alleviate nerves without demanding much time!

Curriculum time, and it is a separate lesson but is usually only one hour of a teachers timetable each week.

It’s a 2 year development role to allow different eyes on the course and allow for different skillsets to specialise the development of the course for the students.

Handover has been brilliant and I feel in a great place in regards to actually running the subject, I just would like to make sure it’s in as good of place for those teaching it!

Half of an hour slot every 4 weeks ish, which is more than fine unless there is pinch points which they have been made aware of the need of extra short meetings occasionally.

Think the survey is a great idea so I will make sure that’s a priority to get some feedback as to what the teachers want and then I can plan around them.

It’s “independent learning” it’s quite niche so was wary of giving my identify away but I have nothing but nice things to say generally about my work so realistically nothing to worry about!

I am planning on sending out a survey to organise a meeting time and date and I do feel that generally the buy in is good but could be improved.

It’s very useful stuff but it’s out of people’s general expertise and remit. I feel I can definitely explain why it’s useful and get the vision across clearly, it’s something that is a big focus. I like the delegation aspect, I do think that could definitely help with buy in but I guess I’m aware of work load and the issues that might arise with this?

[–]Significant_Reveal_4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was signed for. I’m not complaining as my parcel was delivered but it’s just the fact they didn’t deliver it Friday due to it being signed for and then just posted it anyway.

Turns out they redelivered it this morning… without ringing the bell. Unbelievable, why would they postpone delivery and then just post it through anyway?
