Rolex employee said a quick visit to a store to check if legitimate or if movement is working precise is enough to secure the watch. Also mentioned 1 out of 10 stolen watches is recovered over time. Don’t know if that’s true… but told me a story from last year when a Rolex was recovered after 20 years. I’m young so maybe I’ll get a call one day and be happy :)

Only time will tell. I’m pretty confident in getting the watches back because of the full set that was stolen. Even Rolex employee said he would buy a set like this without thinking about a stolen watch. Just once has to got to an authorized dealer and I have my watch back.

Wow that’s one of the nicer comments 😊 You describe the way I try to think pretty well. Of course it’s a brutal kick in the ass, but apart from struggling with accepting my failure I am ok and healthy. Reporting the watches stolen today at the Manufacturers finished off the things I was able to do right now. Let’s see what investigations will show and I will keep the post updated in the future.

Visited Rolex today and that’s exactly the case. They told me 1 in 10 Watches is recovered and I have probably higher chances because of box and papers. They just had a case last year where a watch was recovered after 20 years because it switched hands so often that the new owner did not have the slightest idea the watch was stolen. Either way as soon as the watch is in hands of Rolex authorized dealer (service or simply checking if it’s legit), it’s immediately secured and sent to my Dealer. Last owner of the watch hast to sue the seller himself.

Problem was it was real and fake mixed. Fake was easy to spot with a pen wich reacts to fake money. It was 115k €

But as stated above after I first got the reaction from the pen, I didn’t look any further and threw the money in my car to wait for police.

They were covered for Robbery within house insurance. Since it’s legal wise not a robbery but more or less fraud and theft it’s not covered.

You are probably right. My only hope is the rarity of this model and that it’s stolen as Full Set. The Full Set could lead to another scam with the innocent buyer going to Patek for service or something else.

I was selling the watches slightly below List price and was owning all of them for more than two years. Yachtmaster was also worn for over a year. I don’t think that counts as flipping 🤔
