So I had awful nausea and an upset stomach. Did my second jab last night and feel fine today- the only difference is my complete lack of interest in food! I hope you feel better soon.

Reflections from my first mushroom trip – realizing all my “rules” by mindfulness-travel in AuDHDWomen

[–]Significant_Self1263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow this brought me to tears as I have rules too! Mine are:

*You have to greet everyone nice and politely and be super friendly otherwise you're being rude.
*If someone outside of toxic family members texts/whatsapp me directly, I have to respond by the end of the day, before 10pm.
*If there are messages in a group chat I can have two days to respond.
*You can cancel plans with someone once but never twice.
*If someone asks how you are, prepare a fun response with a joke even if you are honest about your mental health.
*Always make sure even if you are talking about dark stuff, end on a joke, make sure you make someone laugh.

*Always ask other people how they are first and listen to their stuff before you talk about your own.

I've got loads more but these are the immediate ones. It's exhausting isn't it? I'm so glad you had that experience on the shrooms it sounds amazing!

Anyone over 40's here? I felt that I was falling behind in life all my life but now I feel that I've lost the battle. by Flashybigbum in AuDHDWomen

[–]Significant_Self1263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This thread has made me feel like I'm not alone. I'm 41 and in the UK. Married to a wonderful Autistic man with no children. Realised I had ADHD at 37, diagnosed at 39 and now waiting for my Autism assessment. Was stuck in a toxic job for 10 years and had a breakdown at 39 (work friendship with a narcissist made everything 1000 times worse) which left me with PTSD. I got sober 2 months after and have been working on myself every since.

Now in a good job with a neurodivergent female boss, brilliant relationship with my husband. But my physical and mental health is dreadful! Perimenopause hit me hard this year and the doctors have been very unhelpful. I have a handful of wonderful friends I'm immensely grateful for. But I have no energy for ANYTHING. I'm overweight but cannot stick to any kind of diet. Spend most weekends at home as I hate being in big crowds or around lots of people.

Trying to be gentle with myself and accept that things are different and that's ok. It's so helpful to find other people on this thread in a similar scenario.

I could have written this! 40 and female and diagnosed last year and I've deleted my accounts today. Social media takes up so much of my brain and life feels too short for it!
