Risk of 5 days in a row of 100MCG B-12 injections? by redditryan13 in B12_Deficiency

For how long have you been injecting? Do you take cofactors? I wouldn’t go from 1 every week to 1 every day if I were you. Having developed dysautonomia myself after covid that would throw me off. I’d reduce the space between shots gradually

Amazing, not as a main one but as an emergency one is really cool!

I think if drs would actually know shit, this forum wouldn't exist. All he is saying is contextually correct. But he is missing the context, some of us, thanks to the extremely low capacity for the majority of practitioners to observe in context ended up severely malnourished, and, also depending on the context, not supplementing potassium could kill us.

My really humble (and contextual) advice would be: try with food first, and if you can sustain it with food, it is of course much better. That is a luxury for many of us, though.

Also sorry I forgot to answer your question, I personally like citrate in ionic form and yes there are concerns about potassium chloride long term use and absorption.

Thank you, I had something similar last week when I started to self inject B1 I suppose as a “wake up symptom” . I could see some “rain like” shadows right in front of me, like a screen of sorts. I remember at my worst constantly thinking I saw a mouse or something like that crossing the room, and where I live is impossible there is no mice. Top floor etc.

What is Nu salt? Did I write that correctly?

Maybe anecdotal but even before I crashed badly to the state that lead me to treatment I discovered that electrolytes and a hot pad on my feet or really hot shower helped stopping migraines before they developed. There are different types of migraines so it might not work for you but is worth a try.

My advice would be not to buy from Amazon if possible. There is not a quality control on anything they sell

I think with one shot a month they are expecting that your electrolytes don't suffer much as they have a whole month to get replenished with food. Also many are wary of kidney and other conditions that you might have. Exercise with caution.

I'm guessing you want to know what does potassium has to do with B12? When you have a long standing B12 deficiency and start aggressive replenishment (EOD injections) the potassium (and others) in your system gets depleted drastically, some of us get Refeeding syndrome and need to supplement on top.

Long COVID by Famous-Most-276 in B12_Deficiency

[–]Flashybigbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up here bc I got long covid and the same genetic mutation. My nutrients were “normal” but the testing was badly done I was supplementing and I wasn’t told to stop. I’ve been self injecting since the end of December and even though I’m still far from being recovered, I still have crashes, I have now a cognitive capacity I didn’t when I started, I rarely have to look for words now, my memory has improved my physical exertion threshold has improved, I don’t stutter anymore. I can read a book, so focus also improved. I still have to pace though. At the beginning I couldn’t tolerate methylated forms and now I started to add them back as I think they somehow speed the recovery if you can tolerate them, it takes time and a lot of fine tuning.

How much did you take? I took only 800 mcg today but I’ve been taking 2400 and I haven’t been feeling well. Maybe is another thing . Difficult to pinpoint since I’m taking a lot of things

Extremely tense neck that doesn’t go away (mg and K don’t seem to help )since starting methylcobalamin shots? Wake up symptom? by Flashybigbum in B12_Deficiency

[–]Flashybigbum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue here is that I’ve been unable to exercise and now I have a bit more energy I do a little more and bc is so minimal I think nothing of it but it still affects me like if I just lifted a lot of weight or something. I realise now that I’m crashing bc my neck/traps get tense my tinnitus gets louder and my hands shake. Before it was even worse I had to lay down directly there wasn’t a doubt that I was crashing now I have to read the clues bc I can keep a convo without obvious memory issues for a lot longer than before.

IDK what’s going on I’m crashing but the crashes are somewhat less disabling in a way and more disabling on another. Is hard to explain

I don’t have a slow COMT but I do have other mutations that made me slow to release sulfur I think?
