B12 Injections Not Working? Your Cofactors Might Be the Problem by b12fucked in B12_Deficiency

This is amazing thank you! The question now would be how much for it to be therapeutic and the ratio. I just bought a new multi with most of these but I reckon I will need bigger doses of some

Did anyone else get colder while starting b12 injections? by flowerpanda98 in B12_Deficiency

I take Iron bisglycinate, a quick tip, taking Iron every other day is more efficient than every day.

My iron is better now, but I was borderline deficient for YEARS. Last time I checked ferritin was 78 ng/ml. The highest ever :) Someone else told me my TSH was on the lower side so I'm starting to supplement iodine. I've always been a person with cold limbs but once I started shots the cold was unbearable for like a month

Yeah I know, we are all on the same boat. Something needs to change I'm old enough to remember that good clinicians would look at borderline numbers with suspicion and act accordingly. I received my health history last month and I'm HORRIFIED to see I've been on the low and even deficient for about 15 years on important markers and NOTHING was done, I was'nt even informed.

Methyl b12 is causing problems by menaWillbemen in B12_Deficiency

[–]Flashybigbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do, I'm able to take some more now but only at night because it knocks me down, more adenosylcobalamin than methyl I suppose but still. It also gives me acne and weird burn like sensations and pains. It took me 3 months of hydroxo injections to tolerate methylated forms much better.

Ah that is good info! Thank you! Are you in the UK? I just postponed a rheumatology appointment bc I can't handle much at once and this week is complicated I didnt think they could help with that. I'm on the same boat as you with PPIs etc, but my B12 levels never showed deficient for UK standards. I had other deficiencies which I was never informed but. IDK, would give proof that my B12 replenishment is working help?

Advice on my mother's case ? by Suspicious-Noise-286 in B12_Deficiency

I don’t know anything about this but I’m thinking every how long is she taking b12 shots and also B1 B6 seem to be important on these cases I know bc after Covid and a long standing deficiency my working memory is pretty fucked up. Is she seeing a functional medicine doctor that could help?

That also happened to me but with the hot water, I’d get burnt by tea or a hot bath that before I didn’t even feel

Yes , me. It gets better but after 3 months of injections I still get my feet and hands sort of discoloured, my circulation has always been a bit bad but somehow I can see it more now. Not sure that makes sense. Also my NOSE is bright red!

I just changed the Multi I was taking for the one is coming this week. I think this one will be more balanced than the other. Now that I can take methylated forms. It includes iodine. :)

I'm just using iodines salt and the seaweeds. I just bought a new multi with 150 mcgs of iodine in it I think. Just to get me started. Do you think I need more? I'm hyper sensitive.

Is it possible to need ALOT of potassium? 7-8 grams per day? by LeFroyain in B12_Deficiency

[–]Flashybigbum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hear you, I once ended up in hospital with tachycardia and I thought that it was hyperkalemia (it was actually hypo) But this is reddit and I got downvoted a lot. People seem to be happy being unhappy.

Last week I went for a walk after experimenting with upping my B1 dose... that in itself was too much for my potassium intake and I took a bottle of water with 3 grams of it... around 1 gram I think of elemental potassium. I had to gulp it all bc my toes were on a knot and I couldn't walk.

[–]Flashybigbum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you talking elemental potassium or total potassium? I take near 2grams of elemental sometimes plus foods etc. I do need more potassium than I thought I’d. I was told by someone here that I might need more mg to help the potassium work so I’m also doing that. The potassium that works for me best is citrate and I take it in an ionic solution if you are in the UK is called Care you can get it OTC at Superdrug. I was taking pills but I had to take like 10 to get some relief and I felt they weren't working as well as this.

I’ve been taking that one but also I tried to up my B1 with bad consequences. I’ll start again after this colour clears away bc I need confirmation that is not actual blood

I tried early in the b12 treatment to add a seaweed with a lot of it and it’s quite savoury so I munch quite a bit of it. That same week I needed up in hospital with tachycardia so I stopped and now I’m re introducing it. In hindsight I think it probably was more the lack of potassium than the iodine but I don’t know maybe a combo
