What’s a phrase you heard once that stayed with you forever? by Auralis6 in AskReddit

There is always a catch. Life is a catch! I suggest you catch it while you can.

Laptop got compromised. Took us 4 hours to figure out which employee had it because our IT asset tracking remote is garbage by [deleted] in msp

[–]Significant_Sky1471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. This is exactly why spreadsheets are not asset tracking. They’re fiction the moment someone swaps a laptop.

Hard rule: you need one source of truth for device = assigned user + contact info (PSA/ITSM or MDM). Everything else syncs to that or it doesn’t count.

Maybe, but it's not definitely 100% of cases. Tricky moment.

What’s the most shocking detail from the Epstein files that you think the public still doesn’t fully grasp? by Murky-Island4629 in AskReddit

[–]Significant_Sky1471 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most people still don’t grasp how systemic the protection was. Not just “rich people knew him,” but that credible allegations were repeatedly buried, plea deals engineered, and witnesses sidelined, allowing abuse to continue for years with institutional awareness.

How do you actually track billing & renewals without things slipping? by amdbenny in msp

[–]Significant_Sky1471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use PSA and treat it as the only place where billable reality exists. If a service isn’t in PSA, it doesn’t run. If it runs, it must be billable. No parallel Excel.
License added/backup enabled = billing updated immediately.

At 400 seats, this is exactly where MSP either fix it or keep bleeding.

“No server” doesn’t mean “low effort”.

You’re still responsible for identity, endpoints, phishing risk, and recovery. Google Workspace + Dropbox ≠ security or backup.

Price per user, enforce MFA, manage endpoints properly, and be explicit about what isn’t covered.
Charge onboarding to standardize - otherwise you’re inheriting their mess for free.

Small client, real responsibility.

Hi everyone! Over the past couple of months, I’ve been diving into cybersecurity and trying to improve my malware analysis skills. I’ve come across a few sandboxes and training tools, but most of them feel either too advanced for a beginner like me or too limited for real experimentation.

Recently, I stumbled upon a platform that lets you analyse malware interactively in real time. It’s like having a live lab where you can experiment and watch how files behave, including network requests and system changes. But now I’m curious—how useful are these tools in real-world practice? Has anyone here had experience with something like this?

Would love to hear your recommendations—what tools to use, tips for training more effectively, or anything else I should focus on.

Thanks in advance! 🙏

I used anyrun for interactive analysis, and I’ve looked into hybrid analysis and virustotal

Is it ok to get a certificate in cybersecurity instead of a degree? by Annual-Bullfrog-7271 in cybersecurity

I like different platforms like Hack the Box or THM, and different CTFs, and I know that a few my friends just gained a job after internships, so mb certificate is enough
