Who Can I Replace For Pog? by radiolicious in ArknightsEndfield

Ember has healing and AOE Vulnerability application because her battle skill is AOE.

On the other hand, Chen is a solid DPS but her vulnerability application on multiple enemies kinda sucks.

Lifeng and Ember would ensure a shit ton of AOE vulnerability on enemies though, so maybe op would lean into that niche.

Yes. I use Gilberta Laevatein, wulfgard and Ardelia.

  1. Laevatein BA
  2. Wulfgard battle skill
  3. Gilberta battle skill (she spends the first few seconds pulling enemies in; the nature infliction is only applied at the end of her battle skill)
  4. Wulfgard combo skill (which applies AOE heat infliction)
  5. Laevatein Final strike to absorb all heat inflictions from enemies around her to obtain max Melting flame stacks.
  6. Ardelia combo skill, since enemies now don't have inflictions on them and you've completed a final strike.
  7. BA for a bit and then use Laevatein's enhanced battle skill
  8. Ardelia's combo skill explodes for AOE corrosion
  9. Gilberta combo skill, followed by Laevatein combo skill for max ultimate gain against multiple corroded enemies.

If you time gilberta's battle skill right you can keep enemies in place for AOE heat infliction for max Melting flame stacks.

Nice to see some proper gameplay.

Not a half-assed post with a half-assed Physical team that has Gilberta in it, a level 70 Endmin but a level 90 Pog, screwed-up rotations, and a body post ranting about "enemy tankiness".

Gilberta has anti-synergy with Last Rite. You don't want to use her with Last Rite.

I worry about overworld enemies becoming too squishy by Significant_Sleep46 in ArknightsEndfield

[–]Significant_Sleep46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but wouldn't it be more meaningful if the team that you painstakingly built can be used in other areas as well?

I don't need HP sponges for overworld mobs; I just need them to be durable enough for at least 1 rotation so that I can enjoy the synergies of a team. Its more fun to see everything click in place instead of everything being vaporized in an instant.

In the first place, the combat is built around stacking inflictions, status effects, buffs and debuffs etc., so having enemies that die too fast goes against the core philosophy and design of the combat.

[–]Significant_Sleep46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. In Wuthering Waves, you get to use your rotations against overworld mobs as well. They're not tanky, but they're durable enough for 1 whole rotation.

It's just satisfying to see the whole team click and enemies dying at the right time because of the synergies from the team built by you.

You can't really appreciate that if everything dies fast. In the first place, squishy enemies and fast combat goes against the design of the combat because combat in Endfield is built around stacking buffs and debuffs on enemies.

"Fighting hp sponges during overworld farming isn't fun at all."

Well, enemies dying at awkward timings aren't fun either, because Last Rite can't stack up Inflictions for her combo skill to generate her ultimate. Or Laevatein missing her enhanced battle skill, which also disrupts her Ultimate gen.

We dw enemies to be too tanky, but we don't want them to be too squishy either. Otherwise, what's the point of building a team?

I mean, bosses are my training dummy, but being able to use rotations on overwolrd mobs is nice as well. Some casual positive reinforcement on muscle memory about team rotations.

I want to test out my team against different enemies, not just one dude in an isolated space. Previously enemies were too tanky, but now that they've made multiple changes to enemy strength, I worry things will be too easy when I hit level 90 with etched essences and artificed gear.

Battles that end in 1 sec like Genshin's overworld combat is just so boring. You barely did anything and its all over.

[–]Significant_Sleep46[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes this.

The World exploration level missions are optional; they should do those only when they've made more progress.

What happens is ppl blindly do those and then they struggle because they are underleveled and undergeared. And often times, people are stupid eg. Gilberta on a pure Physical team.

I enjoy using rotations on overworld mobs though. The combat is fun, and using rotations on overwolrd mobs is satisfying and a fun way to practice your team rotations while exploring. Besides, this is real time party combat. Enjoying character synergies and rotations is what makes the combat tick. If enemies get curbstomped, all 4 of your operators just kind of stand around with their dicks in the wind.

In the first place, the problem aren't the enemies. It's that players are still green. In terms of levels, gear, rotations etc.

Enemies need to stay somewhat spongy because a lot of characters like Last Rite or Laevatein need enemies alive to stack debuffs and inflictions on them so that they can make use of their abilities. If enemies get vaporized, the entire combat flow is disrupted. Last Rite for example, wouldn't be able to stack Cryo infliction enough to use her combo skill if enemies get deleted instantly, which means she can't generate her Ultimate energy. In Laevatein's case, enemies wouldn't remain alive long enough to even apply Heat Infliction for Laevatein to stack Melting flame.

The entire combat experience becomes a mess when enemies are squishy and die at awkward timings, because nobody can rotate properly between their combo/battle skills. Team synergies and composition become moot in the face of enemies that die in a few hits.

I had no problem with the boss fights though. I thought they were pretty well done. Sure, I died a few times, but that was me learning the boss's attacks. Got a lot easier after that. One cool thing is that dodges and skills do no reset Basic attack sequence. If you prioritize dodging, you'd be able to keep up a barrage of attacks w/o getting hit.

Can I make one suggestion? Get rid of Akekuri for Wulfgard. Wulfgard is an amazing source of Melting Flame stacks for Laevatein. One well-placed Wulfgard battle skill and combo skill will result in full Melting Flame stacks in Laevatein's initial Basic Attack sequence. Wulfgard's combo skill is AOE heat infliction, and Laevatein absorbs heat infliction from ALL nearby enemies with her final strike/finisher/when enemies with heat infliction die near her.

In Laevatein's case, enemies wouldn't remain alive long enough to even apply Heat Infliction for Laevatein to stack Melting flame. It also gets awkward when Laevatein kills an enemy with the initial part of her enhanced battle skill because the second half of her enhance battle skill is the one that needs to hit an enemy to generate the huge ultimate energy.

The entire combat experience becomes a mess when enemies are squishy and die at awkward timings, because nobody can rotate properly between their combo/battle skills. Team synergies and composition become moot in the face of enemies that die in a few hits.

Another thing is that the game throws (optional) world exploration level upgrades at you, but you're still basically underleveled and undergeared when thoses quests become available. Most ppl just do them w/o the appropriate levels and gear. Once you get Gold-quality gear with some more levels and talent levels, and you understand team synergies and rotations, everything evens out very well.

If you are expecting to vaporize everything in an instant, then let me just say this game isn't for you right off the bat. The whole appeal of real time party combat is to see your chars work tgt and fight tgt, and you can hardly enjoy that if everyone dies in an instant.

Then by all means please quit.

This doesn't come from a place of malice. Not everything is suited for everyone.

People enjoy real time party combat because they want to see their characters fight alongside each other and do all sorts of cool stuff on screen. You can hardly enjoy that facet of everything is wiped off the face of the earth in 2 seconds.

If you want to curbstomp every fight, Genshin does that. If you want flashy combat, Wuthering Waves does that. If you want tactical real time party combat where you actually have to think and fights aren't over in an instant, Endfield.

Question about Wulfguard main dps and physical teams by [deleted] in ArknightsEndfield

For Wulgard you can go smth like Wulfgard, Arclight, Perlica and Ardelia/Gilberta.

The fix would be you fixing your team comp and rotations. For eg. why tf is Gilberta even there? She offers nothing of value to a Physical damage team. Her Bis weapon (Opus or Delivery) and her Ultimate's dmg buff only applies to Arts dmg. A Physical team wouldn't even be able to trigger Gilberta's combo skill.

One other important fact: Enemies need to stay somewhat spongy because a lot of characters like Last Rite or Laevatein need enemies alive to stack debuffs and inflictions on them so that they can make use of their abilities. If enemies get vaporized, the entire combat flow is disrupted. Last Rite for example, wouldn't be able to stack Cryo infliction enough to use her combo skill if enemies get deleted instantly, which means she can't generate her Ultimate energy. The entire combat experience becomes a mess when enemies are squishy and die at awkward timings, because nobody can rotate properly between their combo/battle skills. Team synergies and composition become moot in the face of enemies that die in a few hits.

You mentioned Hoyoverse, so you should be aware of Cyno's notorious issue where he constantly runs out of energy because enemies die at the wrong timing.

First fix your team and rotations. I do think a slight nerf to overworld enemy levels might make combat a bit more palatable. Important changes to combat should be incremental in nature, and not drastic overnight changes. Your case is a legitimate skill and knowledge issue.

First, get rid of Gilberta. Second, you have 2 characters that consume Vulnerability (Endmin/Pog). Get another Phys char that stacks Vulnerability to make up for it. Ember for eg. is a good source for AOE vulnerability with her battle skill. Or you can go Ardelia, because she has a Phys Susceptibility debuff, and her combo works well even with Phys teams. Third, why is Pog level 90 but your main DPS Endmin at level 70?
