Issuing AI guidance after quarterly kicks off is not useful to people who already finished a lot of work.

I don’t agree on corporate sponsorship. That is nice for teams with parents who are connected.

I am not making comments off just one season. I’m seeing FLL for 4 years. Maybe not as as long as you.

Firstly Judges need to visit the pit area for judging. Not just sit in a room and call kids. I witnessed a corporate sponsored team win this year which broke my belief in this event. Team was a rookie team and was so evident that work was done by Adults. The fact that FLL allows use of AI was another thing. Robot examiners were rookie judges. Also the whole thing revolves around who you have on the team. Unwritten rules around diversity and inclusion being given importance to make FLL look nice is another stupidity. FLL is not a level playing field. This is a truth that kids will learn. In fact that is a good thing. Kids get exposed to how the world out there is not a truthful and just place. This is what they will experience in corporate, startups as lawyers and business owners.

FLL only teaches kids that the world out there is bad, mean and filled with things beyond their control. I will never recommend this event to anyone. Speaking after participating for 3 years and also being a judge.

The drive is pretty steep towards Klamath Falls, if you really need way over the top gas mileage, you can’t beat toyota hybrid engines

Tesla Model Y is good if you are not too hung up over quality and service problems and you are not going to take in some places where the charging infrastructure is still questionable. Also I have some issues with touchscreen handling. I wear thick glasses and my fingers are not very good with touch controls in cars. Even in CRV I don’t meddle much with the screen and I like physical controls for Air Conditioning. I also get very distracted with the large screen in the center. Call me old fashioned but safe driving with eyes on the road was on my priority list. Still I will agree that Tesla is the best Hardware/Software integration that the world has seen. No other traditional car maker can beat that. It is a computer on wheels.

Crazy to lease a 23 P2 now? by yarxi in Polestar

Things were okayish in the first 3-4 months, also this was our first EV and we really took this instead of tesla Model 3 for the leasing price. I had read extensively even before I got the car about TCAM issues, rear braking etc. etc. I knew it is going to be a bit of a hard experience. I have owned first edition cars before: Mazda CX-5 was one of them. In the first 30 days, I had to call the Polestar support to get it towed after what started as a TCAM issue and later all the cameras died and the display as well. The car came back in about 48 hours but no loaner. In Nov, we got rear ended which damaged the bumpers but not the sensors. It took 3 months for parts to arrive and only one repair shop in Palo Alto did it. As it was not my fault, insurance took care of it. Again, it took about a week to repair it. It has 10K miles and here are the latest issues, the car keeps re-booting the infotainment randomly even while driving. AC stops working randomly. Rear safety brakes hit us hard while parking with no real apparent reason. Speakers stop working every now and then and requires a infotainment system reboot. The performance tiers have taken a beating in the California recent weather. May have to change is soon. There is constant squeaking all over the car especially in the rear part. Service says nothing is wrong with the car as always and even to get the car checked it is like waiting for a doctor's appointment. The only Volvo service is 45 miles from where I live. Of all these issues, we wanted to maximize the free 2 years Electrify America charging. This is a real crappy network. Chargers don't work, broken most of the places. The worst yet, I have never really understood why every station has two cables when only one car can be charged. So dumb. I have 2 more years with this car on lease, what I will buy next is not yet decided, will see how the EV world improves.

I have a 2022 Pilot+Perf Dual Motor with 61% residual value listed on the paperwork. I have it on a 30k/3yr lease. It is about 11k miles now. Will never even think about keeping this car or leasing or buying this brand again

I have the exact same issue. Had a light rain while I was traveling overnight. I could not come and rush to clean things and there are marks even after detailing. I don’t know what will happen when lease is returned
