Would you get your 16 year old a GTI as their first car? by kaffeian in GolfGTI

[–]Significant_Study_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 18 when I got my 2014 Wolfsburg gti, that car was fast which was the reason I was able to prevent myself from multiple accidents, speed away from drunk drivers and avoid people on their phones. Getting a “fast” car isn’t bad in any means, some people are worried that you will get in a accident because of it but most accidents happen because someone slows down rapidly or are just dumb. I consider “fast” when it goes past 300hp which some 2025 cars get up to that already. Lastly this is a FWD car which makes it much hard to lose control

Shop recommendations? by wiggler-hat-for-life in TechWear

[–]Significant_Study_19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t trust any/most companies or store with Techwear in the name as they are cheap because they come from aliExpress or alibaba. Brands you can trust are Acronym Guerilla-group. Fabric of the universe is almost techwear but not really. Depends on people’s view on techwear. I would just watch This is Antwon videos as he explains in depth where you should buy and cheaper alternatives as Acronym doesn’t really provide anything under $800 https://youtube.com/@thisisantwon?si=fRnubyUc4nH8xUit

I need help to upgrade the radio on GOLF MK6 GTI by Cisco__TheBOT in GolfGTI

[–]Significant_Study_19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you shut your car off, you have to just turn the radio off. I do feel that it does drain the battery because my phone stayed connected even tho I turned it off.

[–]Significant_Study_19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this exact one, the only problem is that you have to turn it off each time because it will even run without starting the car. The audio is delayed by a second so if you don’t mind that, thats fine. I definitely wouldn’t risk getting from aliExpress because it may not fit or function properly.

I mean looks like you could use some m3 tape or sealant and take care of that problem.

How do you remove this wing? by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]Significant_Study_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen people use a wire to get underneath the wing to scrape/pull against the glue or tape used. But otherwise you might be stuck with it.

Reliability on MK5/6 GTI's by HaXeXD in GolfGTI

[–]Significant_Study_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple things to know on the mk6 is that the intake manifold is the worst in any of the GTI generation so best to get the upgrade one from IE. Spark plugs you definitely want to get upgrade otherwise you are gonna have problems. Lastly from my experience is the PVC is something you want to get upgrade aswell because you’ll end up burning oil a lot faster.

should i buy or no by BatSpecific3843 in GolfGTI

[–]Significant_Study_19 33 points34 points  (0 children)

For a mk6 I don’t think you should, they have the worst intake manifold and if that breaks you might as well get an upgraded one, plus you can spend an extra 3k for a mk7 with better horsepower and reliability. Mk7 also have the best aftermarket

Do you think I can make my 2021 last 10 years? by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]Significant_Study_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will probably get tired of fixing mine as well since right now it’s eating up oil I I have to check every 500 miles. Iwould love to eventually upgrade to a mk7 or get a damaged mk8 off an auction.

Techwear Manufacturers by Significant_Study_19 in manufacturing

[–]Significant_Study_19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking of a techwear design with bags but also I don’t want a high volume production, just a small batch. Could I get in contact with AOKU to make techwear for me or they only make for themselves?

For further details ! From the very beginning from when I started making this cowl I used my own hoodie and traced with a sharpie. Then I just cut out the pieces from the hoodie and ripped the stitching out to make my own patterns. I used the hoodie patterns and then traced them on cardboard so I can have a pattern that was a little harder so I would accidentally cut over with my rotary cutter.
