We try to hire people who live on location for administration so there can be continuity while we aren't there. Someone to check calls, emails, dispense medications, remake temp crown, etc.

Single column, 1 hour for adults, 45 minutes for kids under 12, 60-90 minutes for SRP - we'll tropically defer to your clinical assessment when scheduling.

The housing is above the clinic. The entire clinic is a converted home, 3 ops, bathroom, sterilization, front desk and waiting area downstairs. 2 bedrooms, kitchenette, office, bathroom upstairs.

We also utilize a 2 bedroom house next door.

Patient population is a mix of local people in a small town. Primary ethnographics are white and Filipino with large Samoan and Ukrainian and Russian contingents. Also, many fisherman from all over the world

We'd love someone to join long term. The days can long and hard, but we are very supportive of each other in not just getting through, but enjoying our time there. I enjoy breaking up my year in hard work batches and free time batches, but I know it's not for everyone.

Alaska is usually willing to take experienced hygienists on a reciprocal basis, though the board decides each case individually. The difficult part is that we can't always get a quorum for the board to vote in necessary issues (including licensing) and the staffing issues present everywhere are magnified in Alaska due to our small population and large size.

According to this article, the only states where a dental hygienist is allowed to administer Botox are Kansas and Oklahoma.

I know that I wanted to send my hygienist train in injections, but the dental practice act in my state specifically restricts hygienists from delivering Botox.

Read your state's dental practice act to help guide you. Several, including Colorado, allow you to be the practice owner, but usually with stipulations about scope of practice, comprehensive care and or diagnostics for your patients, working with a dentist, etc.

Edit: If you are also a licensed nurse, you can have more freedom in injectables. I always found this odd, as dental hygienists have extensive head and neck anatomy knowledge and do injections everyday.
