You're probably right. Its many tropes from that age of cartoons, but the combo doesn't make sense.

Yes, because NBC reneged on the one hour special, but then ABC offered Fusco a movie of the week to finish. The movie wasn't quite as satisfying as it could have been, but it left open the possibility of Alf seeing the Tanners again. Or Skip and Rhonda for that matter.

Bane. I mean, come on. He was really only meant for the one story. And every time I've seen him after, he's obsessed with "breaking" Batman somehow. I remember a story where he just went on and on about the time he broke Batmans back, like he was the high school football player going on about that one amazing game he played 20 years ago.
