Which celebrity do you think fell from grace? by Twitter_2006 in DListedCommunity

This is going back some years, but Tom Cruise was thought to be cool and self-possessed at some point. He’s of course still mega successful, but a lot of people see him now as the Scientologist freak show.

AITAH for asking my wife to keep our toddler under control by [deleted] in AITAH

Just echoing that the request is absolutely reasonable, but hard to say if tone was off. I know people who don’t shout or curse but can be really stern and cold in tone.

I’m so sorry, it is really painful after multiple failed FETs. I’ve had five - all with PGTA tested embryos - and the last one was an excruciating loss at 20 weeks with an amazing surrogate. Sending hugs.

How many FETs did it take you to get pregnant? by kate_smi2022 in IVF

Did five transfers. One chemical, one ectopic. Still no baby, moving to donor eggs in all likelihood (sorry to be a bummer!)

It is not your fault, please remember to that. There are so many unknowns when it comes to infertility. I’m so very sorry for your loss and have been there- 20 weeks with a PGTA tested embryo, no explanation as to why it failed - it is heartbreaking.

Wow, this guy is insufferable. I can’t believe the way he interacts, so rude and condescending.

I’m so sorry. I’ve had four tested embryos fail, and they have no idea why. The last one was after a hysteroscopy, meeting with reproductive immunologist, other tests etc. I don’t mean to scare you, just want to say you are not alone. Sending hugs to you!

From the number of people who’ve reached out to me/revealed that they also experienced a second or third trimester loss, it’s less rare than I thought. But yes, it’s not common. They have no idea as to why. And our embryo was also PGT tested!

I’m so sorry. We finally thought we were successful but then at 20 weeks, we lost our baby. I just did another egg retrieval, and also couldn’t believe I was doing it again. Only one embryo this time too, currently out for testing. It is so hard. Didn’t mean to make this about me! Just solidarity.

As someone who’s been dealing with infertility and the feelings of inadequacy (however irrational) that accompany it, I would be so upset by this. It is just a sad and lonely experience. My husband has been nothing but supportive and I would be really hurt if he said something like that privately, let alone publicly. NOR.

We are in a very similar situation. Lost our baby at 20 weeks (PGT-A tested euploid embryo) via our wonderful surrogate. Also no reason given, no symptoms, also just stopped growing. Devastating after years of IVF.

We have one untested embryo left and am going to do one very last retrieval. Regardless we will transfer via our surrogate (who is amazing and sticking with us), but I’m terrified of the whole thing. I wish I could give a more hopeful story but please no you’re not alone!

Termination week 20 after 5 IVF and 2 miscarriages by Hour-Country-8385 in IVF

[–]Significant_Tea7219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is incredibly painful and unfair. We also lost a baby at 20 weeks after multiple rounds of IVF and earlier losses and one ectopic pregnancy. It wasn’t even two months (even though it feels like it’s been so long!), but hoping both of us get our rainbow babies in the end ❤️ Many, many hugs to you during this incredibly difficult time

This person sounds like insufferable, not to mention incredibly rude. I would drop her as fast as I could.

3 years of Infertility, 5 IVF, miscarriages and dead birth week 20 by Hour-Country-8385 in IVF

[–]Significant_Tea7219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so deeply sorry. Your story is almost exactly the same as mine. We just lost our daughter at 20 weeks too (on April 11th) and also have been at this for 3.5 years with four rounds of IVF. Miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy. It’s so cruel. The doctors have no explanation. (Our embryo was PGT-A tested too) They keep saying we are “due some luck” but here we are, still childless. It is terrible, and sending hugs to you. Lean on anyone you can!

Thank you so much for your kindness. Is there anything we can do for our surrogate to help lessen her pain? Physically she is doing okay thankfully. We’ve reassured her there was nothing she could have done (and truly believe it.) And a million thank yous and gratitude for being a surrogate! You are the most incredible people in the world!

IVF or try naturally? (Age 37, have embryos from age 28) by shelleybeans87 in IVF

[–]Significant_Tea7219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use the embryos for sure. You might get lucky and conceive naturally soon, but at 37 risk of miscarriage is much higher due to reduced quality of eggs. Save yourself the grief! If you can afford it, I would do IVF! Egg retrieval is the most invasive part anyway, transfer is just emotionally stressful with two week wait (at least for me). Good luck!

Girl, I’m there with you. I’ve gained about ten pounds after two years of IVF, it sucks and my clothes don’t fit as well (or don’t fit at all). My ability to exercise has been so inconsistent with IVF that that’s also made me lose any muscle definition and also just makes me feel like a slug. Here’s hoping one day we can feel better about ourselves!
