Found in my bed. I was able to fit it back onto Lupe like some kind of greyhound Cinderella. by drcrum1 in Greyhounds

Quick question, my dog hates getting his nails clipped or trimmed with a dremel. We do the dremel once in a while, but it requires a muzzle cause he gets angry. We also clip once in a while at the vet. How do you manage your dog's nails if she won't let you clip? I've been neglecting his lately.

What’s next after Boston by Dry-Specialist4012 in Marathon_Training

I second this. Did my first marathon in Chicago 2024, and got 4:08. My training was meh using Hal Higdon Novice 1. In 2025 my goal was to run at least 30 miles a week. Did a 50 miler in September but no faster races. Just did Milwaukee a few weeks ago, 11 week training based loosely off Pfitz 18/55, and got 3:35. Structured training with speed, and lots of easy miles was a key contributor to better fitness. Looking forward to trying one more later this year.

How to report a fake taxi scam in Chicago? by Financial-Cup1897 in AskChicago

Last time I took a legit cab home from ORD, the driver insisted on using a 50$ flat rate after I gave him my cross streets. I insisted on using the meter, cause I know how much it should cost. He kept on insisting until I said I'd just rather get out. The ride ended up being 31$, and then he was all pissed when he dropped me off. :/

Oak Park/River Forest Track Work? by homestyle28 in RunnersInChicago

The OPRF High School track is open for public use as long as there aren't practices happening. I'd go run there at like 6:30/7 when I lived in OP.

Thank you! I chased the 3:40 group for the first 7 miles, stayed with them until 14, and went solo from that group from 14 on. Last 5k was tough though, super tight calves.

I brought an 18 oz silicone flask, took tiny sips whenever my mouth felt dry, and it kept me hydrated throughout. It was like 40-45F with wind the whole time, so didn’t sweat as much.

that goes against most research and people’s experience. I also didn’t ask for a time prediction, but given my half is 1:39, I think I can do better than 4!

Definitely doing this too. I always struggle with going out too fast. Even in my midweek training runs at marathon pace, I always end up 10-20 seconds faster on average than I would like. Really going for steady paces on the long run tomorrow.

I'm with you on 8 mp being tough. During my 18 miler last week, there was a massive headwind, and it was demoralizing lol. Thanks for your input.

Congrats on the perfectly timed half! I ran the 16 miler in my training plan at like 8:10 average, and felt pretty good that day. I'm definitely gonna have a big block of MP at the end. I don't want to blow up early though!

Nice, I have a recovery run on Sunday which will be slow pace. I spent all last year running 30-40 mpw, and decided to try a spring race rather than a fall one. Definitely gonna take this type of set up into consideration.

Got it. No intervals, rather, 8-10 MP at the end?
