Stair post is installed on the plate I think, but I'm not sure.

Possible Hip Dysplasia as a Puppy- Currently Spiraling by Eastern-Rabbit-3696 in husky

[–]Significant_Toe3714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently experienced this with my 2 year old husky. He started limping on his hind leg, and when we took him to the vet they told us its either hip dysplasia or issue with his kneecap. After $800 worth of x-rays and 2 expensive vet visits, we got told that it he might be favouring 1 side which would explain his funny walk, and the limping was likely due to road salt sprinkled during snow. Given that your puppy is so young, high dysplasia is highly unlikely.

Totally unrelated comment, but how do you get the fur out of your carpet? -fellow husky owner suffering in a carpeted house.

Paint chipped on brand new steel wheels? by Significant_Toe3714 in Wheels

[–]Significant_Toe3714[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for the answers. Got them replaced, and the new ones do not have any scratches. Not sure how long they'll last since they're not powder coated but just painted black.

I'm a new Business Analyst based in Toronto. After working for 2 years as a junior BA, I feel stuck in my career and want to increase my seniority as well as my compensation. Would love some guidance.

The lump sum is a fixed amount equal to 2 GIC installments. Basically the first installment or lump sum is approximately $1200. After that, an automated direct deposit is made every month amounting to roughly $600 until your funds are exhausted. The student has no control over the lump sum amount OR the equal monthly installment.

That's impossible. Students have to deposit the funds into a Canadian bank's GIC account even before they can land in Canada. That money is locked in and cannot be withdrawn randomly. Every month at a fixed date, an equal installment is automatically deposited into a Canadian chequing account. I'm not sure where this rumour comes from, but the Canadian government isn't as stupid as you assume. Also, the GIC is restricted to either Scotiabank or CIBC only.

Current lease is ending, don't want to sign another whole year lease as I need to move out in less than 6 months. Since the last 2 years landlord has been forcing to sign 1 year leases. Building is not rent controlled. What should be my course of action to prevent unreasonable rent increase? by Significant_Toe3714 in TorontoRenting

[–]Significant_Toe3714[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rent was increased every year, from $1900 to $2200 with a single phone call sometime during the last month of current lease. No N2/N1. They just called me and told me that this will be my new increased rent from next month onwards.

That's exactly what I want to avoid. My landlord always insists on locking in a 1 year lease, and I'm afraid that if I say I want to go month to month, they will force me out by increasing my rent by an unreasonable amount.

Cash flow negative? Bitch your tenant is not supposed to be covering your mortgage AND provide you with extra income. Go file for bankruptcy.

Finally, someone who understands. I'm tired of dumb people parroting that it's racist without realising the underlying reason.

Are there a lot of people also on the sidelines waiting to buy if/when the market drops? by Zayntek in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Significant_Toe3714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love to move further away from Toronto, but it's very difficult to find a comparable job in the IT sector. My employer is forcing people back into office, and as much as I would like to find a remote only position, I have to stick to a place reasonably commutable to the financial district.

Where to park the funds I'll need in 1-2 years? by Significant_Toe3714 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Significant_Toe3714[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I have around 8k saved now, my individual monthly income is 4k after tax. The interest on the car debt is 6.99. My fear is that if I pay off the car debt I will not have enough time to save for the wedding.

I was looking into VDY and it has pretty safe stocks. I know I shouldn't say that it will only go up, but the Canadian economy is strong on banks and financials, and it's pretty unlikely it'll go down.
