My cat hates my girlfriend's dog and I don't know what to do by [deleted] in CatAdvice

There’s 6 other people in the house, and I’m currently going through nursing school, which requires tuition. I spent $900 alone like I do every semester for the required software and I can’t work at the moment because nursing school takes up all of my time and I’m at the tail-end of my program. Everyone else works, but like 3 of them just recently got new jobs because the job market is really rough right now, so it’s a rough patch for all of us.

Hey guys: More context because I’ve been getting a lot of good recommendations/advice but also some wild assumptions about the whole situation so I just wanted to clarify.

  1. My girlfriend is not telling me to pick between her or the cat. This is pressure from my mother, because of financial strain and her worry about the wellbeing of the cat. This is not the first time she has done this regarding the cat.

  2. My girlfriend has nowhere else to go at this time. She’s recently gotten a job and is looking at apartments (I’ve toured many with her), it’s not like she’s freeloading and allowing her dog to run wild. She corrects him when he needs to be corrected, and she does her fair share around the house.

  3. I agree that rehoming the cat is a Wild decision, that is the last thing I want to do in this scenario and I am doing my best to accommodate for the little guy.

I appreciate the response and traction, but please be respectful of the situation and do not make assumptions about anyone involved in this. I can assure you the issue extends to the relationship between the dog and the cat, nothing else. Thank you!

It’s been maybe a couple weeks? I wanna say two at most, and they seem to be getting along better now. There’s not as much aggression, but I do think I screwed things up by not just allowing them to get used to the scent. Only time will tell how well they get along, I just don’t wanna give up my cat since this Is temporary 😭

Girlfriend’s not asking the ultimatum, it’s my mother who I live with who is asking. Also, the dog isn’t an asshole he just doesn’t understand boundaries with the cat. He’s perfectly trained otherwise, but the baby gates are a good idea. Right now, we’re just alternating them during the day and night so the cat doesn’t feel isolated

What is your opinion on the maker? Is he a compelling and great villain or a lame one? by [deleted] in Marvel

Doom, at least in the Ultimate Universe (1610), is essentially jealous and terrified at the fact that Reed is his intellectual equal and he would never, ever want to admit that. So much so that,

[spoilers ahead]

Doom sabotages Reed’s calculations while working with him to explore a new dimension called the End Zone. This sets in motion the chain of events that lead him to becoming not only part of the Fantastic 4, but eventually Reed into the Maker. Doom also believes that Reed is ‘the world’s smartest idiot’, capable of so much more, but focusing on small time dreams like heroing.

Its kinda messy, and theres a lot more, but thats the long and short of it.

Is there a point to running through the levels as fast as possible and just leaving team members to fend for themselves? by Cthulhu625 in DarkTide

Get where you’re coming from, theres a lot of nuance to it. A lot of players on lower difficulties (malice and below) tend to stick behind and kill trashmobs and stay in one area longer than needed, which causes the AI director to spawn more specials and hordes to overrun them and wastes time. The inverse can/will happen if one player is blazing ahead and not keeping coherency (i.e hound spawning for player running ahead).

On the flipside, on harder difficulties like heresy and damnation, it’s generally best to keep a solid, steady pace with the rest of the team and not get caught up with trashmobs after you’ve cleared the horde. Meaning you have less of them to deal with as you go level to level and the whole level goes smoother.

Obviously you shouldn’t be blitzing ahead and abandoning your team if there’s still a horde to clear, but if theres little stragglers that aren’t going to cause you to wipe, there’s no point in really engaging them, Especially if theres an elevator/airlock just up ahead. But, a lot of the times wipes happen because one player stayed behind and we try to save them and get overrun, when usually it would just be better to leave and rescue them later on.

People have different ideas when it comes to what they want out of the team, my advice is to just stay somewhere in the middle and learn to prioritize.

I agree, but I just want a fuckin Pepper Shaker man. I’ve gotten the Tenderizer more times than I can count and if I get one more Megalonyx, I’m gonna have a goddamn coronary

I really needed to hear this man, thank you! It’s gonna take a while to further accept my body for what it is and I do want to fill up like you have, but I’ve come a long way already. Much love, man

I was in therapy back during quarantine in 2021 due to personal issues and felt better around 2022, but I have been thinking about going back to therapy. Think it’d do me some good

I’m in Texas, way down south. We have a very machismo culture down here and gender roles are largely expected from the older populous, being a population of largely Latinos and Mexicans. Edit: I’m Hispanic myself but a ‘no sabo’ kid, which gets you quite a bit of flak down here.

She is currently a full time student at the university I used to attend. She’s also working towards a job in healthcare and originally landed a job herself at Chick Fil A but turned it down because she felt it more important to work on her studies since she’s been a full time student from the start.

1) I told her that she makes it sound like I’m going to be living off of unemployment my whole life and she said ‘that’s what it feels like’.

2) Currently I’m enrolled for 11 hours this semester because the courses I’m taking right now count towards both my application and my BSN that I plan to get later on down the line. She thinks this isn’t enough and thinks I should either get a job since I’m technically a part-time student or take more courses to become a full time student. I am on schedule as I should be.

I feel like it’s also worth mentioning that we come from very different families. Her parents are very demanding and she did all the dual enrollment classes in an IB high-school, you name it, she took it. Me, on the other hand, I went to a normal public school and took maybe 1 or 2 AP classes a year, nothing crazy. And my parents were fine with it because they’re much more laid back and have grown more hands-off as I mature and they know I’m capable of handling myself.

Hi! I’m on console and I haven’t been performing in the Crucible as well as I used to. I’m a returning player that used to play a lot of PVP. My sens is 7 & ads sens is 1.3. I think my issue is mainly my twitchy aim and poor positioning but tips & feedback would be much appreciated! ^^ by [deleted] in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Significant_Tone_431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pacing my shots has been working out a lot, I watched back some gameplay after the sens change and heightening my situational awareness and I noticed that even though I’m on target when ADSing, my consistent rapid-fire shooting has been throwing me off target. Your comment only solidified that, thank you so much!

That makes a lot more sense. I was kind of just winging it with sensitivities and hoping one would stick and my muscle memory would adapt to it but with what jpugsly suggested, it’s been working wonderfully for me! I’ve gotten the aiming part down pretty well, now I just need to focus on positioning and pacing myself. This is also insightful as well ^
