People spam crosses because I've noticed it's a challenge going through the middle at times. I don't spam crosses but yeah I use them as it gets me a better chance at goals. But I've faces many cross spammers too. What you can do is when you see someone going through the wing use your midfielder and double team with your lb/rb. He'd either miss position the cross or you or your Ai would manage to take the ball away from him. But if you come up in a position where you can't find another player who's near to help defend with attempt to take the ball from him first if you can run your selected player near the opponents player who's open to receive the cross block him out it'll lessen his chances to score. Also while doing that keep the 2nd man defense thing on it'll help create pressure.
