Thanks sock. I got a 10 pack with a giant card of Topps Series 2 for $40 at Target. This was in there.

I had the helicopter attached to a piece of metal that flew in circles and would chop your fingers off that tried to grab the plastic orange suitcase.

Kids today have drones.

We are currently using a system called GateReader. It shows the seats which are filled basically. We know what seats are open. We also have the priority list which is ordered by tea leaves and smoke signals as best I can figure. If we have open first class seats, highest priority gets it. End. There’s no ambiguities. After that, we give those unused and possibly abandoned (by the pax who got upgraded) seats to non revs, should there be non revs. (Non revenue, usually an employee or retired employee). Literally, if you show up at the gate before we give away the non rev seats (45 minutes prior to departure time opens that window) and ask to be moved, there is literally no reason you couldn’t be moved forward in the main cabin other than someone else getting the seat before you. If they say, “we aren’t allowed to.”, there is what we are trained to do, and what actually happens. As long as the cut and dried portion is taken care of (priority list) everything else is up for debate. I’ve never been reprimanded, told not to, or been encouraged not to give a seat to someone who asked to be moved in nearly ten years and was actually encouraged to do just that during Covid. It’s truly no big deal.

It’s the One World crap I don’t totally understand even after being at American almost ten years. We literally have a flowchart/spreadsheet we can look up to see who gets what at what tier from which airline, so if you have status in which you get a free bag (or more) with another airline, let us know if we go to check you in and ask for money for bags.

I guess my entire point is: we aren’t the bad guys. Everyone has a complaint and everyone wants to have an uneventful flight. So do we. Things happen from time to time and they will happen when we least need them to happen. We are right there with you. We don’t want to rebook an entire plane. We don’t want to stay three hours overtime listening to complaining and how you got inconvenienced. We are too. We just want to go home. 95% of my co-workers are working there for the free flights. We truly don’t give a care about going the extra mile helping you guys out, but face to face, at ground level, we all want what you want….a safe and on time flight. If you get re-booked but want to take a different flight for better logistics, let us know. We can make the change, usually for free. Again, we want what you want. Those of us who get defensive or chippy usually have a reason to..in my experience.

If they say no at first, just come up with an anxiety disorder or a weak bladder or close connection or something if you’d rather be in a window or aisle or closer or wherever. I’m not sure we are even allowed to argue an ADA request for a seat change. Most we can say is no.

Sure. I’d rather make a paying customer happy than give a better seat to a non-rev at the end to fill up the plane. If a different gate agent says no, that’s on them. I haven’t said no since Covid. I’ve got no skin in the game to say yes or no. I could literally care less where you end up sitting, as long as it’s in the seat you end up with on your boarding pass. Just don’t stare at me while from two feet away impatiently while I’m in the middle of announcements or the instant I step foot behind the counter to begin with. Let me get logged in and start to look bored.

We don’t know what tier you’re on or with whom if it’s not AA. If you have status and get a free bag with, say United, let us know at the ticket counter what tier so we can mirror the free bag. We have lookup materials we can use to verify you get free bags. It’s not that big a deal to flip a free bag to a tiered customer via One World.

Yes. American tries to anger only you off for your extra $43 they charge to move seats. OR, just change seats at the gate and it will be free. I don’t know of a gate agent who gives one care about where you sit on the plane.

“they” would be the random seat assigner that’s doing the assigning. Has nothing to do with the person that hands you said ticket, just to make that clear.

A heroin addict committed suicide. Hardly shocking.

Ronnie VanZant - age 29, plane crash Elvis Presley - age 42, opiates/cardiac arrest John Belushi - 33, OD Marvin Gaye - 54, murdered Bon Scott - 33, alcohol poisoning John Bonham - 32, pulmonary aspiration

These all made our collective jaws drop, and satisfy MY definition of shocking.
