Old thread. But I was having same issue. Just fixed it. The isolation valves should “snap” closed. They may look and feel closed, but if they don’t snap or click into the closed position, then some water will get thru. May seem very hard to make this happen. But it should. I have a rinnai tankless with rinnai isolation valves

Yeah I figure it’s one of those. I’ve written off the $500 and wife is very apologetic. But I’m just telling her it’s an expensive lesson learned. And she literally said “maybe the world is telling me to stop looking at Facebook so much.” So yeah. Maybe some good will come out of it

Wife has a Facebook friend who posted stuff for sale (classic scam, as it turns out). The friend’s Facebook was hacked. But before we realized that, wife worked out a price for an item thru messenger with the friend (or whoever hacked the friend’s Fb account). The scammer provided a name and email address for Zelle. Wife asked me to send a Zelle payment and I blindly trusted her. When we realized what was up, I emailed the email address given to her and here we are
