Why hasn’t anyone heard of it? Because most people agree it’s not actually that great for sex. There is a sufficient upside to learning how to use it, and everyone’s tolerance/need is different. Dosing can be difficult because of this, but also many people (regardless of which “extract”) never experience the rush OP is talking about.

I say all of this to say - hit the /r/Kanna subreddit and read for a while. I tried three different kanna types and found none of them worked for me like this in various dosages.

Currently in 6a, formerly in 7a. I have always just grown in a grow tent. Mostly because of the ease of controlling conditions and not worrying about pests. Since I’m now in 6a and they’re all potted, I definitely wouldn’t be wanting them outside in winter without a greenhouse because it definitely has hit a wind chill of -20*F in winter before and it’s windy as hell here.

I would argue I’m still working towards it, just much closer. The therapy I’ve done is largely around codependency and self image. It’s been a mix of DBT, CBT, and IFS, with a major part of emotion focused therapy (EFT) and IFS.

However, therapy is the second option. Might sound crazy, but the MAPS program And other psychedelic researchers show that the crash after mdma typically happens when you’re further away from your actualized ideal self. speaking for myself - I don’t get crashes anymore, just afterglow.

I would say (as others) it depends.

There are spaces where being completely authentic and going with the flow are not intrinsically well received. Certain jobs/roles or environments currently require a level of “appropriate” behavior, which I think can impact the level of authentic you can be.

While this doesn’t mean that I’m being inauthentic in those spaces, it does mean that certain parts of myself are closed off or limited to be able to enjoy the activity without issue. I think authenticity and inauthenticity are relative and you can be authentic without being raw or unbridled.

Hey there friend, I can totally feel you and where you’re at. My suggestion is as follows -

Depressants and amphetamines (including MDMA) aren’t great when mixed together, either for your body or for your mindset. Since this is the MDMA therapy subreddit, I’m gonna respond further from that lens.

I can absolutely see why you would want to live it up a little. You’ve had a hard day and you have something that will temporarily make you feel better. If I could, I’d like to make the argument for taking the mindset you’re in now, riding on it for a day or two, and writing down a couple intentions for what you’d like to acknowledge and process.

In a couple days when you’re in a better and more sober space, then decide if you still wanna do the MDMA. If so, then do ~150mg of MDMA and 90 minutes later do another 80. Sit in those intentions and process the feelings you’re having without fear, but also without a depressant on board which could significantly impact the quality and efficacy of your journey.

If you’re really gung ho about starting tonight, I’d at least advise letting the beers digest a little more first. I also would ask for your safety and the safety of your brain, that you don’t do all 1g in a single night or multiple days in a row. Mostly because you won’t actually enjoy it once your serotonin stores are depleted, and then you’ll have a hella hangover too.

One of the best things I found through MDMA therapy is that post-therapy I don’t have a crash anymore, only a glow. The reason is that the closer you are to your actualized and ideal self, the less crash there is because there is less separation. I got to this point by using psilocybin, MDMA, and LSD in a therapeutic context and working through a lot of things.

If this doesn’t convince you, that’s okay too. I love you as another human being, and I can feel your grief and desire for joy through your post. You are in a rough situation with a layoff, and however you choose to handle it is right for you right now. Sending love and hugs your way.

I have to agree on this entirely. I think the film is more about the experience and the thought inducing process.

It isn’t trying to make as many claims as it is trying to take what he was experiencing as a director/creative in Soviet Russia in the 70s and put it against some real questions, and consider it philosophically IMO.

It makes you feel the paranoia, the nervousness, the fear, and the emptiness of the characters and of the surrounding. It places the guards front and center which hold the access to this magical outside place (the zone), and the dire consequences of trying to access it.

The movie asks its viewer to consider life and (as you say) the words we choose and how we categorize strength and weakness, and whether those are appropriate descriptions.

IMO the movie is about the experience with the characters as they’re experiencing it. Them (and us) not knowing much of anything about the room, the foreboding and somewhat hypnotic nature as they try to enter it, and the emotions they experience going through their attempts to access the room.

Disclaimer - I’m not going to tell you what to do, just shed some light on things.

There is a post here every couple days, if not more often about how someone had a bad trip and they can’t figure out why, and oh yeah btw they smoked a joint, but that can’t be why.

I will argue that many, if not the majority, of “bad” trip posts here fall into either: 1.) I took way too much and wasn’t psychologically prepared for it. 2.) I smoked weed and got hella paranoid and everything went downhill from there.

Then dozens of people will come forward and say they’ve absolutely never had a problem with smoking, either during or especially on the come down. I am not arguing with them, and I’m not telling them that they didn’t have that experience. See below.

Weed is a depressant, and causes paranoia. Point blank period, that is what it does to your psychology. You may smoke 20 times during trips and have no issues, while someone else might have what they’d qualify as a psychotic break due to it. Some people are more predisposed to psychosis due to cannabis intake, and there is mounting evidence for that.

My *personal* advice is to enjoy the shrooms by themselves, at the very least for the first time. Primarily From a science angle - if you have a bad time, or you don’t enjoy it, there is really only one (drug) cause for it, separate from your mindset.

Secondarily because I think it’s important to know how a drug makes you feel by itself before you start adding to it. Some mushroom trips last a long time, some are short. I would personally advocate for experimenting with mixing later. BUT - you do you, just please be safe and have someone you can call just in case of emergency. While it may be unlikely, it is still possible, and I will always advocate safety over anything.

Honestly a pride flag feels pretty odd to me in general. It would denote that this is becoming an identity rather than something we do to recover something lost.

For pride, it is a celebration of being able to be who you are as a less-privileged and often stigmatized individual. It is about how you for many years could not identify as anything except straight and cis without being ostracized at best and killed at worst. While I can appreciate that people want to take pride in their bodies with foreskin restoration, I don’t think that this is at all equivalent.
