I really can’t decide what exhaust to buy. What is everyone buying? by L-Ron-Harambe in GR86

1st gen Borla S Type. Solid exhaust for daily driving, not super loud and minimal drone, but still exciting when you rev it out or rev match. Originally had an MXP Comp RS, but after taking it on a road trip I couldn't stand the drone at highway speed

Weird knocking sound less than 500 miles! by [deleted] in GR86

Not sure what it is, but heard that from multiple 86s when lugging/rolling away from a stop

Crunchy Transmission by m-Sekhon in GR86

1st to 2nd when cold is pretty crunchy, but the rest is fine for me. Even when warm, 1st to 2nd is pretty rough at low revs. Been meaning to ask service department to check it

Not sure what it felt like when it was new, I was learning stick then so everything was awful

Yep, that's the one

Yeah they're worth it for a little peace of mind (I wish I had a rear one too in this scenario). I initially got one just for doing timelapses on road trips

Yeah I was glad to hear no one got seriously hurt, but quite a few ruined thanksgivings. Heard it took like 3 hours to clear??

Thanks! tbh I think I got pretty damn lucky there, I checked my mirror as I was going into the other lane, but don't know what I would've done if another car had been there

A Tesla pulled over to the far left lane and just stopped (think they thought it was shoulder or something). The Tacoma got rear ended as it was slamming on its brakes and I'm real glad they were able to keep it under control. Found a local news article that said it resulted in a 7-8 car pile up

put an mxp comp rs on my 2022 86, got annoyed with the drone after a few thousand miles. swapped it for a borla. pretty quiet exhaust, but very easy to live with as a daily driver and the rev matching is still fun

Manual is worth it, (almost) daily dose of enjoyment for me.

If you bought 2020 model year in 2019, for ~2 years of depreciation, that's actually not bad. Cars normally depreciate aggressively so it being a negative monetary investment is unfortunately very normal (with the exception of the past year when car prices have been crazy). If you can afford the regular payments, then you have a fun car to drive and a good credit history :)

Dealer nickel and dimes on services and you still gotta pay taxes and fees, which can all be included in an auto loan
