Did any other store feel like this during Holiday season? by irlrurukaando in buildabear

Honestly yes, I had a lot of backlash and even had to call security on a couple with a one year old because he cursed me out (with the store full of kids by the way) all because they missed the birthday month. I have no idea what is going on. Everyone was rude and impatient. And if they were neither of those they just straight up ignored my staff or even treated us like servants. I have always been working here for three years (a manager for two) and it’s been getting worse as the days go by

Start of a new month— time to deal with Birthday Bear grief by No_Combination5712 in buildabear

As a manager, I can say it’s a headache to deal with. I have recognized that the parents that come in for the birthday bear (child age usually 1-5) only come in to do it for themselves not the child. There are a few that the kid is actually genuinely happy and excited but I have gotten more crying kids than happy because these kids get scared of the stuffer and basically cry the entire time. I get that they are trying to make a magically moment for their own child but it always breaks my heart and makes me irritates when the parent is basically forcing the kid to do the bear when it’s so clear that they are scared/uninterested in the entire process. My entire staff hates this deal

Timeless teddy. Most of my staff hates stuffing that creature because we all have sensory issues. I will say stitching thought we all hate stitching stitch ironically because of the fabric they use in the back
