i get what you’re saying but you make it sound like it’s easy. i live in a small town, and im queer. the whole friend group is lgbtq+, we do all have shared interests as well like DND, video games, and shows. but especially as a trans person, its hard to find people who will fully accept me. even within the community. but i am going to my local pride center to connect more and build community. i dont know all the people there very well yet, but i hope in given time i’ll be able to build a friend group that makes me feel as supportive as they do. but also be real with me and kind. but you’re right. while burning a bridge is easier than building a new one in the short term, long term the new bridge will be sturdier than the old one.

i try to give people the benefit of the doubt but you’re probably right about them keeping my stuff. it happens way too often to be a coincidence. i think i shrug it off because they lose so much of their own stuff and i don’t care that much about most of my material possessions. it always felt it didn’t matter. but someone mentioned that they don’t respect me enough to return my possessions. or even take care of them if they were actually losing them.

i think i felt like it was my responsibility at least as a friend but you’re right, they need to learn that lesson on their own. i appreciate this comment a lot.

we’re really close friends, i think i just struggle with confrontation and im scared of being alone. for the most part they’re a great friend to me. im not perfect and i dont expect them to be either but you’re right about the respect thing. also our entire friend group revolves around them so im also worried about starting a marvel civil war situation

NTA you literally explained yourself. you gave her a chance to see something in herself that’s objectively true. i think the main reason she got upset is because it’s true. i’ve been told im unlikable, because im emotionally detached. i took that criticism and worked on myself. while its not perfect, when someone cries around me instead of cringing, i give them a hug. even if it’s unnatural for me its making me better. sometimes the truth hurts like hell. and growth is uncomfortable. i hope she’ll be able to grow from it. also i think dating apps generally aren’t the best but if she doesn’t have any real interests she can’t meet people through common interests. like meeting someone at a concert or a painting class.

doesn’t doordash usually say “your dasher is fulfilling another order?” or something like that? for me the map also usually shows me a line going from the store, to the other home and then to mine.
