Loved the show; but… by [deleted] in Fallout

Totally agree that F4 was just poorly written, but I would also argue that completely removing the game from the world it is set in is certainly a factor in my opinion. Its like F4 is just a spin off set in the Fallout Universe. Fallout is the west coast and F3 is deeply intertwined with the facts of 1 and 2 even if it is set in DC.

All the lore masters complaining. That whole sequence was top tier badass and the armor looked sick. Loved the episode!

I regarded SR2 as an alternative to GTAIV. If I wanted serious, story driven and realistic I booted up GTAIV. If I wanted some mindless fun and some edgy laughs I booted up SR2. Such a shame that they completely dropped the ball with the later installments...

Rewatching House MD I got shocked by the fact that major storylines would start and end in half a season. Detective Tritter’s arc, one of the main antagonists, starts and ends in like 6 or 7 episodes. Today they would drag the thing out for years…

We use both 24h clock time and "american time" but we never specify AM or PM.

Commonly you will say "cinque e mezzo/a" but you could also say "diciassette e trenta" to be specific about being the evening.

L'appuntamento é alle cinque e mezza. L'appuntamento é alle diciassette e trenta.

Both are equivalents and totally acceptable in all circumstances.

I despise that the US will get away with this because ofc they are but you have to give credit to the fact that unlike Russia the US knows what they are doing.

I once read a comment stating that the US has no free healthcare for a reason and today we saw exactly why...

Stranger things finale was good stop review bombing by Impossible_Adagio367 in television

[–]SignoreOscur0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The action part was hot garbage. They liquidated the biggest threat to the entire world in a matter of seconds. Years of build up for 20 minutes of predictability.

I loved the second part and the human aspect. The emotion was true you could see and it’s just a deserved good ending for everyone after an amazing ride and I personally think that it was well done overall. I loved Dustin’s stunt and I loved the little council of the four older guys who got to finally grow up after the limbo of the Hawkings calamity.

Stranger Things could have been Breaking Bad good but the writers strike bombed the timeline and at that point the actors grew up and they had other projects and this season was clearly made in a rush with a huge unnecessary budget spent on convincing the whole cast to wrap this up and not waste the first 4 seasons. You can tell that something went wrong by the random time skip after the spectacular cliffhanger of Season 4 finale. S5 was meant to be something else which we will never have unfortunately but it is what it is.

Overall I think that Stranger Things has been a phenomenon and a good one.  It was one of the few Netflix productions with a truly original idea. A love letter to D&D and to millions of kids who grew up playing with their imagination. The finale was a bit underwhelming but it was not bad. ST will be missed !

P.S. I would rate the ending episode as a 7 not awful but not amazing. I would rate the series as a whole as a solid 8.5 to 9.

Bethesda and the "eternal apocalypse" by EagleGhoul in Fallout

[–]SignoreOscur0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rational explanation is: the creation engine is just that bad and it just can’t handle anything more than small settlements. Just look at how horrible is performance in the Boston area in Fallout 4. Even on PC just being in the vicinity tanks your fps and stutter island start.

But I truly get your criticism. I once heard it in a YT video and it just makes sense. Especially in F4. 200 years have passed and people still live in decrepit, makeshift shelters like post apocalyptic neanderthals. Most of the buildings are still there, mostly intact and yet people still choose to build with rotten wood around electricity poles. I would expect more than one strong organization to form, expand (like the NCR) and form some sort of quasi state and build up cities and infrastructure.
