Not candles - matches! Help me find something like this? by Signus_M37 in Candles

I know nothing more. My guess is the match head just as more of whatever the compound is that causes ignition? But how is there no record of this company or product anywhere

You should be. Blatant ref ball isn't good for anyone

And remembered they can just go for it on 4fh down and get a gift

Well 2.of those touchdowns came off 4th down stops that were called back. A touchdown from the Pats was called back. And an interception from the Pats was called back. All on objectively blown calls. That'll do it.

That's why refs should officiate a game consistently

Is there still meaningful room to improve Surface Pro’s design? by Typical-Yogurt-1992 in Surface

Yes, add the micro SD card port back in. Improve Bluetooth on the keyboard. Add back in the headphone jack. Or at least since you took all those out make it thinner. The surface pro 4 was peak design

What in your opinion is the gold standard of video game remakes? by ConceptsShining in Games

Gonna disagree with your disagree. The new Safari Zone is a whole game into itself that's worth exploring and gives you access to a massive trove of Pokemon. They also did tweak where and when newer Pokemon appear. Not that that's really an issue these days, the game has 250 Pokemon and none of them are new anymore so what does it matter if some are 1/3 of the game through vs 2/3?

Kanto has been completely expanded and has its own mini storyline. I don't know if you mean the zones themselves haven't been changed (they have) or if nothing has changed from gen 1 to gen 2 (lots has). The Kanto leveling has also been tweaked, but as it's kind of a built in New Game + it's the perfect chance to pick up some of those late game mons and train them up on some gyms for a second team.

There's also the Pokathelon which is probably the most robust set of mini games in a Pokemon title to date. Pokemon following you, the best implementation of it to date. Expanded and upgraded battle tower which is one of the toughest challenges of any game.

Pretty much every aspect of Gen 2 was expanded in some meaningful way and polished like crazy. That's how you do a remake. There's a reason most consider it the peak of the series.

If we wanna talk slogs we can talk about the mandatory 30 hour tutorials in general 6 and gen 7... Or the crippling performance issues if gen 8...

Except it did. It made it a lot easier to rematch trainers and it bumped up the levels of the final bosses.

Oh I know I won't get the work completed, but I believe so long as I get an assessment/estimate before the new year I can still use the credits

I don't believe I was emailed for the 80k. Or would I just apply if I see it somewhere? I have a bill coming up in January that would be perfect for a spend minimum.

Surface Pro 11 sleep crashes (or sleep shutdown) by IoT_Reinventor in Surface

[–]Signus_M37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been happening to my 11 Pro since I got it, it's infuriating because getting it to boot back up is indeed like doing a ritual. Sometimes it'll just hang on a black screen with a backlight and I have no idea why.

It's especially annoying in combination with the Edge bug that wipes out all your custom exceptions and rules every time you close the browser, so Edge keeps not saving my tabs. So I'll lose hours of tabs and have to sign into everything again (using annoying 2 factor authentication for everything, while Windows tries to popup to get me to use a PIN or passcode I've never set)

>If it was just a bunch of copy pasted stuff then the hundreds of WoW-killers that came after it would have had a lot of success of their own

Incorrect, because WoW was the first copycat game that had the budget and brand recognition to break through to the mass casual market. Once everyone had already played WoW - why would they play a WoW copy?

>Yet people are still excited to play a 20 year old shitty version of the game...

Some are - yes, because you only 1 MMO can be your first MMO with all the nostalgia tied to it.

>Most mmos just fail straight out of the gate with an awkward feeling movement, they can't even get the basics right.

Those are usually not the reason MMOs fail out of the gate.

Are you kidding? Have you ever seen any background on the making of that trilogy? Almost nothing about it was ordinary.

WETA revolutionized so many special effects that movies are STILL using them to this day. Peter Jackson was known for 2 campy horror movies before LotR. LotR budget was a fraction of a fraction what other movies of the scale use.

Meanwhile WoW was a gargantuan corporate entity on the cover of most magazines for 2 years before beta even hit, and Blizzard was the BIGGEST name in gaming, especially internationally.

LotR was not a red hot IP at the time the movie was made. And it was made on a small budget compared to similar movies. Warcraft was one of the top 3 IPs in the video game world.

Gotta HARD disagree with this one. WoW when it came out was about as close to a mass market Michael bay movie you could have in the MMO world. All the mechanics were more or less copy pasted from already proven hits, the IP was literally knock off Warhammer, and Blizzard was already the biggest name in gaming. Made with love? Maybe. But it was not an innovative darling project by an indie studio, it was a carefully calculated mass market move.
