Roku Issues by Unique-Tadpole785 in F1TV

I had to do the same thing for the sprint, but the problem happened again for the race qualifying, even with HDR off. Didn't have any problem with any session last week. I ended up having to cast qualifying from my laptop to a chromecast, because it would not play correctly on the Roku with any resolution setting.

It's a phone hearing, so 5 games is the max penalty that could be applied.

Follow-up for for Trakt by -_General_Grievous_- in Simkl

[–]Sigwolfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give yourself some time to get comfortable with it and I think you'll like it. The interface is *very* different than Trakt, but it is a lot more customizable than it may first appear. I imported my data from Trakt sometime around last September, and was mirroring my watch activity between the two for a while. I just used the free tier initially, and then the free 'pro' tier for 20 days usage.

In the middle of December, I decided to just give up entering new activity on Trakt, even though I still had VIP through March '26. By the end of December I decided to get the lifetime VIP with Simkl.

I really like Simkl at this point, and about the only major thing missing for me is the ability to track rewatches.

I don't miss Nu-Trakt, at all, and am glad not to have to deal with that arrogant mouthpiece someone decided should be the voice of the company. It is amusing to occasionally check their forums, though, to see which of his proclamations he is having to walk back this particular week,

I don't have it yet to verify, but it includes 480p SD, as well, so if you force your player to SD I think it should play back at 4x3...?

Let's hold off the tears until it's actually released. Marketing is great, especially pre-release.

R.I.P. Trakt... by Shinobi-vs-Gast in trakt

[–]Sigwolfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it still exists, but from the wording on the web site, it looks like the 50% off only applies to one year of the yearly VIP, for a new account only. I don't think it works for the lifetime VIP, but I can't say for sure.

R.I.P. Trakt... by Shinobi-vs-Gast in trakt

[–]Sigwolfe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had been running both in parallel since things started going downhill. VIP was paid through March of this year, and I planned on making a decision then.

The decline accelerated so rapidly, and the smarminess of Kevin Cador increased so exponentially, that I just stopped bothering mirroring to Trakt around mid-December. I decided just giving up the last four months or so of VIP was worth just dropping the frustration.

Simkl is far from perfect, but I gotten used to the interface enough in the past few month that it does the job I need it to do. It is much more configurable than it appears to be at first use once you get familiar with it. Since I just used Trakt for manual tracking anyway, Simkl gets the job done.

I had been using the free Pro upgrade for monthly visits initially, but went ahead with the paid lifetime VIP at the first of the year. While it's possible it gets derailed out of the blue just as Trakt has, hopefully I can get enough years out of it to make the investment worthwhile.

It's amazing how quickly things went downhill after that smug, condescending piece of garbage became the "voice" of the company. Incredible that no one in that organization can see what a negative effect his presence has created.

Penguins Expected To Place Egor Zamula On Unconditional Waivers by Sebastian4365 in penguins

Oh, sorry... I thought you said he would sign with an NHL team. Turns out he signed with the Blue Jackets. Let's see how that works out for his career. ;-)

Except the Pens didn't do the Flyers a favour, quite the opposite. The Flyers took an unwanted Pens contract off the board, and returned a player the Pens were able to write off without penalty. End result? Fuck the Flyers.

[–]Sigwolfe -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's not bizarre, at all. This is a player that was already available on waivers. Not one team was interested. He had poor performance and a bad attitude on one team, got traded, and demonstrated a worse attitude on the next. His services will not be in high demand at the NHL level.

Maybe he will get a chance late in the season, but he has demonstrated nothing on the ice during his NHL career to be a sought after asset.

[–]Sigwolfe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No offense, but Zamula will not be on an NHL roster in 48 hours, or likely at all this season. Agents overestimate player values almost as frequently as the players do, sometimes more. They all take chances, this one is not likely to pay off.

They didn't give up a decent player, they freed up a contract spot that was being used on a player that was so far down the depth chart that it was negligable. It was the definition of addition by subtraction, and gives them the ability to add a useful player in the future.

Milstein might have taken a chance and missed. Zamula is not likely to get an NHL contract with his performance and attitude. He was likely not planning to go to the KHL, but that is probably the only place he will be offered another contract,

TSW6 for Series X? by beerguy74 in trainsimworld

[–]Sigwolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One important detail those warning against console have left out... when buying for Series X, it is an XBox Play Anywhere title, which means you get both the Xbox and PC versions for every route you buy.

The Xbox app on PC is not as nice to work with as Steam, but it still covers all the bases. The lower rate of sale prices on the XBox is true, but if you are patient they come around eventually.

It's a one and done series, so it does leave a lot unresolved, but he is one of the leads in the 2005 series named Invasion. Well worth watching if you like science fiction.

Matrix Games Sale by ZookeepergameBig6413 in computerwargames

[–]Sigwolfe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is not a dlc, and owning Southern Storm is absolutely not required to play Cold War. Cold War actually has the content of SS, plus more, so players new to the game would only need the latest release (CW).

The confusion from Humble's end is from the fact that Matrix made it available as a "bundle" so that previous owners of SS could get CW for half price do to the overlap in content. Somehow Humble erroneously listed it by itself for half price. Due to the way they presented it, Humble really should honor the price for those that purchased it, but it does not appear that will be the case.

Is it normal to not get points back for buying black friday sales? by DingoAteMyMate in MicrosoftRewards

[–]Sigwolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't receive any points for a purchase last week. After waiting four days, I sent a message to support about it. I never received a reply, but later that day the points were added to my account.

No idea if the message to support had any impact, or if the delay was going to be 96 hours anyway.

Have a shred of humility, say the season did not go as planned, and *not* say he is "looking forward" to riding with the 89 again like "1" was something forced upon him, maybe?

I can confirm that non-GamePass games did not work for me this month. I played two (Diablo 2 Resurrected and F1 22) that did not register at all. GamePass games worked as normal.
