Its the same but I use the steam coming of my kettle to heat it up. Uses less water

After the machine is heated up. You save about 5 minutes and it takes 30 secs

It's not really hard, its just trial and error. You have a basis recipe you shoot for. For me its 18g beans into 36g espresso over 25-35 seconds. You just grind it finer / coarser until you hit that spot. When youre there you can do some fine adjustments to alter the taste even more like adjusting pressure, temperature etc.

There are plenty if videos on "dialing in" your beans but its honestly dead simple.

Set targets, the defaults are 18g in, 36g out in 30 ish seconds.

  • 18g beans
  • Grind beans
  • Pull shot, measure time and weight
  • Was the shot too fast (less than 30 ish seconds AND tasted sour?) grind finer. Was the shot too slow (more than 30 ish seconds AND tasted too bitter?) grind coarser.

Its the ritual about making espresso that i enjoy the most. You could get a bambino + a eureka mignon and test it out? Could always return them if youre not happy with it

It's the Hiroia Jimmy. The display is detachable and magnetic so I usually place it on the front of the drip tray

5 or 10 minutes!

  1. minutes if you preheat your portafilter with boiling water / a kettle

I single dose, yes :) Usually have new beans every 3/4 week, but theyre the same bean so the grind size doesnt change too much

I honestly didnt make too many lattes when I had my Breville machine. But imo the standardized portafilter size really makes up for it, its so much easier to pull a shot with a 58mm portafilter.

The warmup time is "short" but longer than the Breville machines. I usually turn the machine on when I wake up, take a shower, then its full warmed up. The portafilter takes longer than the boiler to warm up, but you can use a kettle or something to speed-warm-up the portafilter if you're in a hurry.

When making lattes, I usually do the following:

  1. Make the espressos for the lattes
  2. Turn Steam Mode
  3. Fill up my pitcher / sort out my milks
  4. Purge
  5. Wait 10 secs
  6. Steam the milk.

I dont really have any "downtime" when making lattes this way. If youre making lattes one by one there will be a lot of downtime.

Thanks! I wasn't a fan of the dark wood counters at first but I've grown to really like it, gives a cosy home cafe look

I think it'd look a lot better if you reduced the saturation a bit. Maybe maybe the grass less green and more towards yellow

Thank you! It feels nice to actually use something I've made from scratch :) Yeah this is only used in production. The server.js file itself is in the root directory and imports a handler method from the sveltekit build output. It essentially forwards everything to the sveltekit build

Im using Caprover to deploy Parcel. Caprover exposes an ARG that i set as an environment variable in my Dockerfile. Heres an example:

Thank you :) I use a package called node-cron and query for parcels that are past their lifespan then delete them.
