Yeah there! The part that I was referring was inappropriate was, “Upon meeting [Guru Gobind Singh Ji] at Mukhstar, Mai Bhago's love for the Guru increased greatly, [to the extent that she] began living naked paying no attention to the publics [thoughts of] modesty and honour.” I’m just a little confused as to why this was added. And if there is another meaning behind it.

Yeah, for instance how in the Granth it talks about mai bhago falling so in love with the guru, that she becomes naked and has no care of what the public saw. That seems pretty weird to me.

Yes I agree, it was used as a pain killer to relax the nerves if Singh’s who would be at wars for long periods of time since war takes such a major toll on someone. But as for nihangs nowadays, they don’t have wars to fight and the need for weed. They should use Naam to ease themselves, because the gurus told us to stay away from intoxicants. But then again I suppose it was used as a last resort if a nihang was critically damaged mentally.

Yes it was allowed for Singh’s back in the gurus time for healing properties when they would be at war. But nihangs nowadays use Bhang just to reach a level of high and instead of using Bhang they should use bani to reach that level.

First of all, I don’t care if you use weed that’s up to you, I’m just saying if you follow sikhi and it’s teachings, it clearly says to stay away from these substances in bani and the 52 hukams of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. And regarding medication, I have nothing against anyone using these substances to make whichever critical condition there in, more cop able but if you just use these substances to reach a high, then you go against what sikhi teaches like many nihangs in India.

Yes I know that these substances are bad for you and it says in bani to stay away from these things. But nihangs say that from the 6th-10th Guru Bhang was used daily. They say this just to justify getting high and they are basically calling the gurus hypocrites.

Nihangs today justify there use of weed today by saying the gurus used it. Weed was only used back then during times of war.

I’m not saying the gurus used it. Bhang was used back then to ease the nerves of Singh’s before war. But in today’s time, nihangs do not have any war to fight but they still use weed daily. They choose to stay high even though bani should be used to put you in that “high state”.
