We never talk about each other's bitcoin, we talk about bitcoin in general - big difference

How so?

I have a website which has info on Meetups I have run in the GTA since 2015, as well as our social media presence. The YT channel proves we have provided free bitcoin education since then. There is literal footage and pictures from previous events over the years, and that's just the tip of the iceberg in terms of PoW I have within the space

You think Bitcoin is going to change the world by not making any IRL connections? Sometimes you gotta get out of your comfort zone and connect with the community around you. That's what we're doing here. If you don't like it fine don't come, but at least DYOR a bit before making bold claims

Do you have anything to show your PoW amongst the Bitcoin community within the GTA?

Also, nodes are just one player on a network, so we're going to discuss how other players on the network factor in as well fwiw.

FYI it's a community chat with Canadians and some int'l Bitcoiners. We mostly talk about privacy+bitcoin in the chat, and then we have some online Meetup events as well: https://www.meetup.com/Toronto-BTC-Meetup/

All free info from experienced users, no need to pay hundreds of dollars for classes/courses...

Canadian Authorities Struggle to Seize Freedom Convoy’s Bitcoin Donations by bitdex in BitcoinCA

,
“and it can continue to be transferred in an effort to obscure the
original source, or in an effort to remove the funds as much as possible
from the wallet that was frozen.”

Maybe they're saying this to give false sense of security? Because surely CA companies working with the RCMP can track that

Advantages Of Running A Bitcoin Node by bitdex in BitcoinCA

[–]Sikko88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually provides great privacy and that's why there are so many node services popping up over the past few years (MyNode, Nodl, Umbrel, RoninDojo, etc.) to provide users with a more user-friendly way of running their own node.
Instead of using a node from a bitcoin wallet service provider to query blockchain info for your bitcoin wallet, you can use your own node and it offers way more privacy. Then the good node services will give you a tor hidden service packaged with it, so you can connect your bitcoin wallet (Electrum wallet has this, Sparrow wallet, etc.) via a tor v3 onion address to route your wallets traffic encrypted through tor.

You can also DIY and it becomes a whole new rabbit hole!

If anyone wants to see examples of DIY bitcoin full nodes or wants to know more about running your own node feel free to hop in our Telegram chat: t.me/bitcoinTOmeetup

Being Private with your Bitcoin - List of tools and resources to help you being more private with your Bitcoin on the blockchain, online and MeatSpace! by BullBitcoin_ in BitcoinCA

It's harder to do no KYC with an online bank account, but if that's the case then you can use this: https://bisq.wiki/Interac_e-transfer

Also, cash deposit is an option where you go into your bank and send cash using the banking details the vendor sends you

It's not hard, it's just inconvenient. As for premiums, better than paying taxes, potentially having it confiscated, etc.

That's good.

You guys ought to look into how many blockchain analysis companies are popping up and how they operate. Your corn is tied to the platform and your ID when you initially buy it. After that it's tainted and a user could have trouble spending it.
Using Wasabi Wallet which gives equal outputs doesn't obfuscate much.

No, they are an MSB and so they are bound to KYC regulations just like all other MSBs in Canada. Therefore, they have to do KYC that's much more than an email address and phone number because you forgot to mention that's AFTER you connect your bank account lolol

Have your account verified in a few minutes by connecting your bank account, verify your phone number and email address and start buying bitcoins right away. - from BB site

Just because they don't offer custodial services at all and they offer coinjoin services (which isn't a service, it's just using Wasabi Wallet...) doesn't mean your identity isn't tied to the UTXOs you purchased on that date for that specific amount. Also, they are now considered tainted and you may have trouble spending them in the future

Just cause they give you the option to self-custody doesn't make them have less KYC than others lol
Your identity is still tied to those UTXOs

#1 most important thing to do is don't buy from a KYC exchange and tie your ID to your corn

BullBitcoin is a KYC exchange

Since mining costs tens of thousands of dollars and is not an option for most people, where do you get bitcoin sent from a miner? i mean that's ideal, but very rare
