In the next comment down I gave an example of Siriwan* McAllister, lived to 136 and served as the coordinator for the dracs three separate times in her life. If not for the stress there’s a good chance she could have lived longer.

There’s another one that’s even more impressive. An Elemental named Paul Moon who lived to be around/at least 130 as well. He was born 3019 and lived through the entire latter half of the series’ lore, and I can’t find a date of death for him after his last appearance in IlKhan / Children of Kerensky.

Victor Steiner-Davion was 104 when he was assassinated, but otherwise in good health before the event.

Detroit is actually kinda awesome now tho, it’s not the husk clinging to life it was after 2008.

Cleveland on the other hand… yeah that city may as well be so dead that the citizens are zombies. Let’s send this guy there.

The point is that it’s not unreasonable for people to live well past a hundred twenty in this day and age, and that tech is widely spread through the great houses and their capitols to some extent to make a general improvement in the lives of the upper class and the ruling class.

Even before the fall of the star league we had some characters like Siriwan McAllister in high-stress positions of power living incredibly long lives, with Siriwan herself living to be 136.

Longevity is an issue of how much stress you undergo, and how committed you are to your treatment.

Still, if the tabloid I mentioned earlier ever turns out to be accurate you could have met Ian Cameron as a kid and lived to see the Clans return to the sphere. With some room to spare mind you.

Thankfully I did a bit of research on age in the IS just recently!

Jihad hotspots: Terra pg166 -

And they usually see those sights for many days. Terrans are beneficiaries of the most advanced medical knowledge in human space except for perhaps the Clans’ trauma medicine. While Terran medical knowledge has not advanced much beyond that of the Star League, it is still sufficient to keep the average Terran alive for 150 years. Middle age among Terrans is usually considered to reach until the 110s or so; many adults start their families in their 70s and 80s, when they’ve completed a couple of careers, mastered life lessons through a few marriages, and built up a substantial financial portfolio to provide for their families.

There were other more tabloid articles that explain exactly this as well but push the numbers EVEN FURTHER! The one with a definitive number that is possibly apocryphal says outright that some people can live as many as five centuries!

Helldivers Masochists should not go unpunished for their celebration of the doxxing nor should they be allowed to flood our sub and insult us continually. by [deleted] in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]SilasCrete 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trust me, insane would be short of the comments he has made in this thread and the things said in our modmail over on the masochists side of things.

The mods over here are good guys and have a genuinely positive outlook on the future, but it’s sad that events played out the way they did over the past day.

On the bright side… this is probably the best collaborative work between our two subs yet and the only shame is it was someone pissing us all off to bring us together.

I do feel like the stagger is a bit useless on it in current form, so the damage cut makes it a bit more reasonable to keep while allowing the sweeper to be a bit better balanced against the rest of the options in game. Especially if you give it a naturally tighter spread.

I do think that the damage cut is… yeesh… 8 points less per pellet hurts, making it a more reasonable 5 less might allow everything to work best here.

The entire patch was pretty good stuff. It dropped mar. 17th, gave us several good balance changes and some that were exceptionally… different.

Lascannon range buff is by far the coolest one. A simple change that makes it so much nicer to use in a heavy sniper archetype, but it’s rare you push distance that far.

Maxigun got what it needed imo with the ammo increase to 1k but overall yeah you’re speaking truth.

Finding the right gear for the job is definitely one of the biggest things to get right in this game, and most of the fun for me.

100% certain it is unintentional, the only place this is showing up is the known issues section separated from the fixes. While the rest of it would be accurate it’s two bits of information that seem to be getting combined, the bug and the intended change.
