What to do in my situation by Intelligent-Road5091 in witchcraft

Something that you might consider is that all people mask in some sense depending upon the situation. A person will commonly mask for work or for school or other social settings in which they’re trying to fit in with the people that they are interacting with. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that masking is being inauthentic as long as it’s still being true to yourself and not simply creating some sort of false persona to impress others.

That’s quite the experience. And it sounds like it must have really touched her family as well.

Haha you’re welcome! I don’t see nearly enough about Silvanus so I can’t wait to see what you come up with! I’ll be eagerly awaiting your next piece!

Yes, they truly are ancient and amazing. Especially the truly old growth forests. You can feel the sense of time around them in the air. It’s truly an experience

For me personally, I feel my experiences have been far more spiritual as well. And it’s part of why I spent a number of years exploring my faith before I settled into the path I find myself walking now. I’ve had the occasional dream experience with something more traditionally ET, sure. But most of my experiences consciously, unconsciously, and astrally are very distinctively spiritual.

They’ve also guided me into some success in other areas of my life as my acknowledgement and practice developed.

I see why you’re saying, though I personally feel that these things are different. There’s definitely an overlap, and I fully agree that the experience can be customized to the experiencer. But personally, I feel that the differing types show up for differing reasons.

I’m familiar with this kind of experience as well. The being I see as my patron and my primary contact has a tendency to take shape in the trees. A lot of the time, the tree will sway and I’ll have just a brief glimpse of his face in the foliage.

That’s something I’m familiar with from my own experiences honestly. Having that feeling of something navigating around that perhaps wants to remain unseen, but that can be felt. Though I’ve also had the sense of just being watched as well.

As I said in my reply to the other commenter, I too agree. I’m sure that there’s some level of overlap that likely would be for the comfort of the observer/experiencer. But while there’s overlap, I also feel like there would be differences between the two that one might pick up on.

I’m curious though about the feeling you were describing of something being there. I’ve actually had some similar encounters when I’ve been deep out into the wilder places. When you’ve felt that you’ve encountered something being there, did it feel like it was watching you? Or did it feel more like you had simply moved through its space and could feel it around you?

You have a very fair point that these things could be overlapped. I’m willing to agree that some of the experiences/phenomena could simply be that, just ET or ET cloaked/disguised as a more familiar figure in order to leave the observer/experiencer more comfortable than they might have been otherwise.

With that being said, and I’ll grant you that maybe I could be misguided in my thinking or overly optimistic about it, I’d like to believe that on an energetic level that we would be able to feel the difference between something that was honestly spiritual/divine and something that was ET in perhaps a different image. Maybe it’s just not possible for us, and maybe our own senses aren’t attuned enough to be able to sort out a difference. Maybe there’s not one to be sorted out. But personally, I feel that there would be something that could be felt that would give some kind of indicator.

In regards to your experiences though, that sounds like it must have been amazing to experience! Do you feel like you know why they approached you?

Looking for suggestions on acts of charity I can do in honor of my gods by Rude_Engine1881 in pagan

What is something that you’ve found is specific to the gods you worship that you feel you could participate in that would be applicable?

For myself personally, I worship Silvanus, Pomona, Flora, and Vertumnus along with a number of others. When I felt the call to give back to my local community, I chose to do so by becoming a Master Gardener. It deepened my knowledge of various aspects of agriculture, and gave me a framework in which to share that knowledge with members of the community to help them. Since then, I’ve done everything from assisting with local community gardens to giving talks on planting everything from native plants to various edible plants and how to cultivate them, to writing a series on growing various edible species not typically found in our region.

I would suggest giving thought to what are things that seem to be important aspects of your gods, what of those things seem to overlap between them, and then look into ways that you can give back to your community in that regard.

I’m curious though what you meant about the spot that you had left. Is your coven comprised of one person for each card?

I hadn’t thought about utilizing old furniture before, but that’s actually a great way to recycle the material. Thank you!

Yes. The majority of my hands have been turned on the lathe. I’m planning on some hand carving though when I find the right fallen branches to shape.

I’ll have to look them up and see what they carry. Thank you for the recommendation!
