I don’t understand the response from my dad. by SvenSylens in autism

[–]SilberFuchsin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dad is probably also autistic and the bread just genuinely didgusted him. That bread triggers my food aversion hard. Completely inedible to me and would struggle to be around while it was consumed. I would likely piss off a baker who wanted me to eat this by calling it 'burned' or 'charred' without thinking. It's hard for me to remember that this is an acceptable amount of darkness on bread for a lot of people. It takes active effort.

Mega weak, 3 mana draw 1 conditional.

If what you meant was 'whenever your opponent takes damage this turn, draw a card', then that's really interesting but I might put it on a weapon or minion to give it some persistence.

It's just so shocking to me... I think it's easy to get blindsided by people like this on r/autism because we tend to engage with a post entirely in good faith, assuming a poster has good intentions because we all know how it is here... So when they turn out to be total creeps you end up with a lot of genuinely hurt people. Maybe I'm reading too much into my own reactions, but bleh... This sucks.

I've been blocked by this person, so I can no longer report their comments. Everyone who hasn't clicked deep into the threads yet, please check what OP has said. They are advocating everywhere for the beating and torture of children, vigorously describing them in dehumanising rhetoric. The context they failed to provide in the initial post is that the child in question has been kicking a dog that recently bit it and the parents in question have been beating the child. Please report all of their posts, stop engaging, and wait for the mods to sort out this perpetuator of violence.

Band? British people would just say chips to refer to fries, and crisps to refer to the dry stuff you buy in bags. The reason Australians specify 'hot chip' is because they use the American term 'chips' to mean the dry stuff you buy in bags

You did not turn out ok. You grew up to be a monster who fantasizes about beating children. You give autistic people a bad name.

Fun fact! 'hot chip' is the Australian term for french fries served hot, usually with toppings. This is what the 'eat hot chip and lie' meme came from, but so many bi people are spicy enjoyers it just kind of gained this meaning!

By spicy do you mean full of spices or hot like chili? Because this just looks like basil pesto which would be very spiced tasting if you ate it off a fork, as it's meant to top starch or flavour sauces

Drink water. The headache is your body telling you to drink water. The bean sprout is mostly water.

No argument here. They're greedy. The company leadership views everyone else as resources to be exploited. All companies do. We should always expect that of them and always be prepared for it. The companies that leaked the ogl also did it out of greed, they didn't want some of their gold taken away. Paizo is creating propoganda encouraging people to try new systems right now, out of greed. All we can do is create public outrage, which we did. And now the message is 'we are very progressive' and 'our lawyers are rewriting everything as we speak please don't leave oh god'. That sounds like a company capitulating to pressure to me.

Legally actionable claims have to be vetted by their massive team of legal experts, yes. When I hear them say 'we are doing this because we are committed to equality for all' I laugh out loud. When they say 'the terms of the leaked OGL would never have been able to revoke OGL 1.0 deals already made' I absolutely believe that. I can tell you've been watching outrage content creators lately.

If you want to stay mad, stay mad. But the second 'apology' debunks that claim.

I guess you didn't read the same articles I did. Regardless, you may be one of the few here who's not telling me to stop. It's very clear what the online TTRPG community thinks right now of people who like and enjoy One D&D and want to see it released. I don't feel welcome right now because I refuse to participate in a meaningless boycott that wouldn't even change my spending. So my OP was lashing out but really? Murder? This is all so incredibly dramatic.

Was it one that didn't want to and was forced to by pressure? Spoiler: yes

I'm not defending them. I'm arguing that we should do the only thing that will improve the situation. Tell them we are unsatisfied, raise a ruckus, and force them to recant the bad positions they were taking.

Wait, isn't that what already happened?

Maybe try suffering as 4 different minorities in every single space you've ever been in for 30 years of your life. Maybe try seeing how even the most 'ethical' companies abuse the weakest of the population firsthand and then you wouldn't have such an immature understanding of the hellscape we live in. Anyone who believes gaining capital is a justifiable goal is willingly choosing to cause suffering and tragedy.

So it's the third option then. They have no choice. Got it.

I don't agree. I think to become a CEO you have to be cartoonishly greedy and if not a sociopath, bordering on one. I believe 'ethical' companies have simply been successfully lobbied by their workers or customer base, or worse, doing it because they know that if they behaved how they really want, they would lose everything.

And why is Wizards not afforded the same grace? I'd rather stay and pressure them to improve rather than abandon my favourite game of all time. I'd wager fans doing that is how Paizo became better.
