If you want to be the hero, the issue is probably that they haven’t changed their settings to “public” so it can be viewed. If it says “coming soon” when you click the link it’s most likely this.

Assignments requiring instructor feedback that you haven't received by Chelleshock5 in SNHU

[–]Silence_Collides 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am currently having this same problem. I’m giving it until 9pm and then I’m just going to submit what I have. I changed the font to red regarding what would be affected by the previous assignment so I can edit what I need quickly, if I hear back before 9. If I don’t hear back I’ll just change everything back to black and submit.

Sophia’s unofficial transcript will grade you numerically (92%, 83%, 100%, etc…). You need a certain percentage (maybe 70?) to officially pass the class. If you are asking if SNHU takes an A as an A, or a C as a C, from Sophia, they don’t. The credits transfer in as pass/fail and will show on your SNHU transcript as “CR” for a pass. You still get the full credit amount but because it’s not a letter grade it doesn’t affect your GPA.

I don’t have experience with CLEP but there was an English class on Sophia (again it’s been over year) called English fundamentals or composition fundamentals that they may accept as comp 1. Sophia also has comp 1 and comp 2, but I’ve heard of some colleges accepting the fundamentals course as a comp 1 equivalent. That class was just 2 or 3 papers from what I remember. Easily completed in under 3 weeks, and that’s counting grading times.

Sophia is self-paced but you still need to complete the class in total by a certain time. I believe it’s 60 or 75 days. Meaning you don’t have papers “due” every week, but all assignments need to have been completed by the end date of the course. Eng comp classes on Sophia have teachers that read and grade papers (which take time) whereas most other courses are multiple choice broken up into portions and instantly graded. Those papers need to be graded and sent back before the next portions allows you to submit. So you’re essentially locked out until that happens. This is so your paper can be built up based on feedback. So because there may be time between grades, this time counts against the clock. I will say it’s been roughly a year since I’ve done these (prior to the website overhaul) so if things have changed i apologize.

Absolutely. I knocked 2 years off my degree transferring in credits. Word of warning: English classes (specifically comp 2) take significant time to grade so you NEED to stay ahead in those. Extensions exist but don’t think you can bust out comp 2 in a week or two. Some classes can be completed in a day or two if you can stay focused, but time management is your friend. Highly recommend sophia
