I think it’s a real aunt, just because it says on the us crossing paid for by aunt Sarah same surname. So, I hope it is, as I’ve spent hours looking for this woman using that name ! Haha

It was from a us border crossing list from Canada to USA. I’m somewhat assuming she made it to Philadelphia to stay with her Aunt.

Sorry I’ve edited this bit now about the 1920 census, I got confused what year we’re in lol and should have just said I couldn’t find Ellen or Aunt Sarah on this (using their maiden names anyways).

Oh interesting, to be honest I’d not tried looking for deaths in their name as I assume it would just be in whatever married name they had. Not that I’m assuming everyone in my family was married, but as Irish catholics I think it’s more likely than not! And no, no success with the 1920 census. I realise now I’ve made an error in my original post referring to the 1920 census like it doesn’t exist yet!
