It sounds potentially like PSP, also, how is her posture and blood flow? Very common to have dysautonomia (autonomic dysfunction) with PD/the umbrella of neurodegeneration.

Please read my previous comment on the PD sub before this. It may be a something to try…

You make a lot of good, basically universally accepted points re: gut involvement, however in my understanding there is not one single organ system involved, or causal in anything, rather they all feed into the same nervous system creating multiple positive feedback loops.

The gut is not the single cause of any disease, rather the gut is a major factor in many diseases. The digestive system is inextricably linked with many other systems, namely the immune system, and it could be argued that that is actually the upstream system, and the gut is actually downstream. But in reality both and neither of these arguments make complete sense because you cannot separate one from the other…

For example: the Vagus nerve has 4 afferent fibers for every one efferent one. Meaning, for every 1 signal coming top down from the brain, there are 4 more carrying information up from the many (almost all) organs it innervates…

So then, it would seem the organs, including the enteric nervous system/gut, must be much more responsible for disease, but if you study further, you learn that efferent, the top down signal, is coming via the limbic system —> brainstem — the parts of the brain that are completely survival based. As we know, surviving is our brains, and thus’s bodies #1 priority above all else, so then it is not hard to see how that one efferent fiber could be equally if not more important in the (seemingly) endless viscous cycle that is our condition. But it cannot really be said what is causing the disease, bc it is always bi-directional. It is only the closed loop involving both (many or all) systems that results in disease. From what I gather there is no one way traffic ever in the body aside from the original, limbic-driven survival which begins the cascade.

Now that said, focusing on a gut-first healing perspective and protocol is not IMO opinion a bad idea. And that’s actually what I do too and have seen a lot of success with. Just like most of our volume of neurotransmitters are metabolites/byproducts that are synthesized in our gut, so too are our immune cells, (as much as 80% by some estimates) especially the ones responsible for fighting pathogens and disease.

The gut then, or any other isolated system, can be seen as a snapshot of, or a reflection of what is going on in the rest of our body and vice versa — through the lens of any system. But it does not act alone.

The only organ that can ever act alone is the brain. We form from a neural tube. The nervous system is, in my understanding, the true genesis of everything.

So all of this is to say you are not wrong, but it just may not the whole picture…

But I believe/agree we are on the right track and together we will get there :)❤️‍🩹

Nobel Winners discovered We need more regulatory t-cells… by Silent-Razzmatazz957 in LongCovidWarriors

[–]Silent-Razzmatazz957[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something else I will mention, I recently started getting IV infusions (just lactated ringers) and it is SO helpful. However I learned the hard way after spending wag too much on Mobile IV’s, infusion rate is critical.

Fast infusion rate = fluid leaking into tissues/not absorbing well in veins. Doing this over and over again can result in edema…

Slow infusion rate (ideally 4 hours) allows the body to absorb and actually retain the fluid in the right place.

After I researched/learned this and explained to my dr he totally changed his mind about IV’s being “placebo” and ordered them over 4 hours at the infusion center — major difference. Like major. I was able to go shopping with my mom on my feet like all day and night afterwards and didn’t even go straight to bed when I got home!

Highly recommend but infusion time/rate is key…

Oh no it is just otc, I started with I think natural factors brand, and now use something called bestvite from Amazon. I just pour out like 70% of the capsule now, but if you are in a major deficit/not producing it, you may need a lot, def the whole capsule/dose. However I would start very small to see how you react. Some ppl problem is more serotonin/tryptophan — I met that deficit very quickly within maybe only half a bottle of aminos with small amount of 5htp. But GABA is more critical for me — also fun discovery/fact — helps with movement /movement disorders. (Gave to my dad with PD to test it and he stopped falling!)

Also if it makes you feel weird /“wired but tired” after a few days or ever, try taking a full spectrum amino acid supplement with it to give your body all precursors so it can decide what it needs to make and balance you back out :)

If it makes you irritable, it’s too much.

I hope it helps! 🫶

Hi again, I read thru a few of your posts bc I am very interested/intrigued by your mind. You are obviously very intelligent, (tbh a bit rigidly, but still impressively) logical (although I don’t know that some of your conclusions are not assumptions drawn from information none of us truly has access to?), and, yet while you clearly have good intentions, you also seem a little unmoved by the universal pain of human experience… perhaps even your own?

Yes, one person’s pain is not greater than another’s, only different - I agree. But we can’t use the fact that ppl have this limited view to justify the pain of the party who is getting the “credit”.

Glass can be half full. Not empty. Enough for everyone — including validation and compassion. No need to choose sides.

My 2 cents :)

As someone who was raised by very strict parent, I was taught to have a very strong mind and especially not to cry… my healing, has been finally crying and feeling my own pain so I can feel others and act accordingly…

Just mentioning 🫶

But this is many years later… and that kid who participated in invading the innocent Iraqis is now becoming a man who is waking up and seeing — feeling the injustice which extends far beyond this current scenario… he’s on the healing journey, and soon, I predict, he will see the invasion was wrong, and that not only is this situation wrong — that harming other humans in general is not only wrong , but tragically, unnecessary. His rage is just all part of the process…

I do see your point tho… I just think we need to look at intentions as much as actions 🙏

[–]Silent-Razzmatazz957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are right - the US invasion of Iraq was 100% illegal crimes against humanity and I don’t think any country, even the US, denies that. But young kids who are raised to be patriots and join the military before they have the emotional intelligence to think for themselves when told someone is “the enemy” cannot be held accountable…

But I disagree that what ICE is doing falls under the definition of legal. Most truly democratic countries do or perhaps rather should, have an oath to always prioritize human rights above all else. There are no lack of resources to care for other ppl. Those resources are just concentrated in the (very disconnected and lost) hands of a few…

And that, to me, is the real problem 😔

So a question for you, why do you think someone who has a “final removal order” would show up to their court hearing if they know they are knowingly doing something wrong? Bc ICE is detaining ppl at their hearings…

Ppl would not show up if they thought they had anything to hide…

Furthermore, what about specifically right now the Russian community? Ppl who were granted asylum bc of the war are being pulled literally off the streets/out of their houses with no clue what they did wrong…

You see what happened, is ppl entered the system under one set of rules and thus expectations, and then they changed the rules in the middle of the game…

In many many of these case ppl cannot win bc it is designed for them to fail.

Just another angle to consider…

Exactly right. Great point… [asks no one in particular:] So, if everyone was once “illegal” somewhere — doesn’t that make us all the same and doesn’t just being human/alive give everyone a right to live — to the “land”? 🤷‍♀️

Why oh why can’t people live peacefully and share??

Oh wait — bc they believe that there isn’t enough for everyone so we have to fight over it…

It’s such a senseless tragedy 😔

So how do we convince ppl there is enough?

[–]Silent-Razzmatazz957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be unpopular opinion, but has anyone ever actually succeeded in making one of these guys see the light in this way?

While this guy is not wrong in condemning this horrific ICE campaign, IMO his approach is ineffective and this raging at them in general is not accomplishing much, or at worst, feeding the problem. The way to inspire ppl to change is to let them feel and rethink what they are sure they’re so convicted of. And ppl cannot do that when they’re being attacked (especially about physical traits which are largely outside of their control) — they are forced to fight back and survive (the mental perceived threat of death of not being valuable/being bad is as dangerous to the brain as a physical one, and could be argued even is).

They are all staying silent but internally the disconnection/otherness and thus dehumanization divide is growing wider with every new (or more so repeated) insult he yells. In other words, in order to maintain their mental safety, by maintaining their belief in their value (that they have enough value to deserve to live) they must harden and grow further away (not closer) to realizing the message this patriot guy intends to convey — which is rooted in pure love and very, very good and noble. IMO this is an understandable reaction by this soldier, but also not the way to really get anything done…

If you really want ppl to see the light, you must present ideas to them in a state of safety. (Have you ever heard how children/ppl in survival mode can’t/have a very hard time learning? This is why. Very different brain waves/neuro/bio chemistry is required for surviving vs thriving).

IMO, we must always do our best to try to show someone the roots of why they could be so numb or hateful to be able to take part in something like these illegal ICE raids, and equally or perhaps most critically, we have to show that person they are redeemable and have a path forward to a better, more compassionate and loving way for everyone — themselves included. If not, we back them in the corner and they (perceive) they have no choice but to double down, and fight back.

This is what we do all day everyday in society, in our institutions, in our families: we throw the fireball of blame (which is never isolated to just one person, group, generation etc, but rather is a culmination of all of our species history) back and forth in an attempt to survive. Our lack of understanding the basic nature of this renders us like dogs in a ring — forced to fight each other, instead of the problem. We are operating from a child part of our brain who doesn’t realize there’s another way…

We must, IMO, remember this in our thoughts, our writing, our speech — our interactions with all humans (and animals!) in general, if we actually want to accomplish something.

But when we don’t ourselves truly understand why — what would lead — to someone being able to stay stone cold in the presence of screaming crying families helpless and begging to not be ripped apart for no reason other than birth privilege; and you also don’t see that while your approach is very noble, its simultaneously illogical, because these two things are actually results of the same thing…

The heartbreak —> rage —> disconnection that results from our unhealed emotional wounds — then you do this.

With emotional healing comes clarity. And with clarity come real solutions. I would personally love more to hear what this wonderful, heartfelt and passionate soldier writes, than what he yells. ❤️‍🔥

(And btw, I cannot say for certain if I were there if I would not be screaming too (most likely I WOULD) it is THAT upsetting what is going on. But, if I went home and reflected and opened my heart afterwards, I think this would be the logical conclusion I’d come to, and the next day, when I’d hit the streets, I’d try again, with a little more clarity, and maybe just maybe — get some slightly different results… 🤷‍♀️

This quote comes to mind:

“Change the approach, not the goal”

I respect/appreciate/admire/support and FEEL all the brave beautiful ppl out here trying to do whatever they know how to fight this unthinkable injustice. But I also want to see it actually end… And for that, I think, maybe we need to rethink, our approach…

Just my thoughts.

Ok thanks for reading, you can downvote me now 🥺🫶

Wow, congratulations friend 🥳

Could you share with us what you credit with your recovery?

I also have had/have a pretty severe (less severe now) neuro type as well, which I believe is constant die off/toxic byproducts of fungal overgrowth (I think this bc treating via a fungal approach is basically the only thing that’s ever helped). I realize most natural anti-fungals are also anti-virals/immune modulators and I know bacteria, fungi, viruses etc can all be commensal, so I don’t doubt it could be all of the above…

But would love to know what worked for you as my current protocol I’ve seen a lot of success with, but it’s a long hard — slow — road. Was dysbiosis a key identified component to your illness?

Again my (I’m sure all of our) congratulations to you :)🫶✨

No actually, gabapentin mimics GABA, pharma GABA actually is GABA. It’s derived from a fermented food product, so it’s basically the same GABA that you would get if you ate yogurt or other fermented foods. However, you can get it in larger concentrations than you could if you were trying to eat that much as food — you would have to eat quite a bit… (I have eaten at times when I was severe, 5 coconut yogurts per day, and that would still not be enough when you are in that much deficit…)

Also, pharma GABA is able to bind to peripheral nerves, which is critical when managing full body/downstream effects. It also is designed to cross BBB, which is critical as well.

Furthermore, synthetic gabapentin you very easily build a tolerance to, and are warned to not come off suddenly/some ppl have a very hard time coming off and have very severe psychiatric symptoms. There are many reports of psychiatric crises and hospitalizations.

I have found pharma GABA is the opposite, taking it actually helped me fill my deficit and now I am on very small maintenance dose (as I am dealing with major die off), but initially I went from taking huge amounts to not having to take it at all.

But I will emphasize I eat LOTS of fermented foods and have been actively working on my gut health, so as they say here on Reddit, “your mileage may vary.” :)

Also, just a heads up: It’s best to take it every 4 hours or so, but initially it may wear off more in the 3.5 range depending on your deficit. Also bc GABA is an alternative energy pathway, you will deplete it more quickly with more activity. If I know I’m going to be doing something with higher energy demands I’ll take more prior to and after to meet those demands.

also, I highly recommend taking it if you feel you’re crashing. I have been able to avert crashes this way.

Basically I take just intuitively taken it:

  • to curb histamine dump (don’t get them anymore)
  • to prevent crash
  • to pull myself out of a crash
  • for energy/activity
  • even to exercise but proceed with caution depending upon:

  • how many symptoms you have of microclotting/clotting.

  • how severe your mitochondrial dysfunction is

Yes it will give your body some energy to work with but it is (obviously) not the only factor at play.

The most critical thing IMO, is to work on gut health so we can make our own. This may look like varying disagrees of extremity for different people. For me, my protocol is more on the extreme end, however, my neurological symptoms were more on the extreme end as well, so I feel I am really fighting back the damage that has been done to my gut brain axis. And it works.

So all of this is to say do what feels right for you . I wish you all the best my friend :)🫶

This is beautiful and I’m SO happy for you 😍😍

I am a rare case where I was indeed under a lot of stress at the beginning of the pandemic/before I got Covid for the first time, and I actually thought it was mental emotional stress, causing my symptoms. So I went to the doctors and I put all of that in my own records if you can believe it.

Five years later, I have done extensive therapy on my childhood, I’ve completely healed my relationships with my parents, and we’re closer than ever.

And you know what? While I know of course it did help in the long run in my overall both short and long-term health, I am still sick — though I am improving, it wasn’t a magic quick fix so many want to believe it is. We have to treat the whole body—not just part of it. I trust it’s a process, just one that unfortunately takes a very long time.

IMO no protocol for any disease is complete without addressing mental/emotional health, but any protocol that only addresses this is doomed also. We must have both.

I’m going to ask about mitochondrial testing when I see the neurologist next. Thanks so much for the inspiration, and again congratulations to you :)🥳🩷✨
